I like that Simon and Grace are two half’s of the same coin.

I like that both were betrayed by the person who meant the most to them.

I like that despite everything that happened, they both chose to hope, against all odds, that they could make it out.

I like that despite everything, they chose to give themselves up entirely for something bigger than just them.

That despite having every valid reason to give up and quit, they chose to do the hard thing, not for themselves but for others. They’re both such hopeful characters that just want to live, and both their lives mattered. They didn’t matter because they had partners or children or family, their lives mattered because they’re people. Because they just did. And I think however you want to read into that dynamic: Romantic, Platonic, Queerplatonic, Aspec, Asexual, etc, is valid and beautiful in its own way.

So Error is actually funny because originally there was a canon post that talked about how Dream would interact

The major problem with this post's proposition was that it framed Error's destruction as some sort of necessity for keeping the multiverse alive & balanced. If you know anything about Dream, you'd know the conclusion was: he respects even the negative/hated side of any balance, and, if you know anything about Error, you know that's not his canon.

So let's just say I do not agree with the supposed canon about it because it did not seem to understand Error's original character.

What do I think Dream would think of the original Error? Probably similar to the things he would think of Killer

Someone causing massive amounts of harm and destruction that theoretically could be redeemed and made to be better. Someone who, because they are causing so much destruction, you have to try to get them to stop once and for all.

The real problem here is, Error's not seen all that often. The way he destroys AUs is partially through stealth/strategy. He tries to avoid conflict with people in it, doesn't target "strong" universes, and takes out important figures first. When he's done he takes the human soul away so they can't reset and vanishes. His anti void would be practically impossible to find until Dream manages to either get in through Error's portals or be pulled in by him, which he also doesn't particularly do often.

Assuming his aura would work on Error, he could probably get him to at least be neutral around him. Maybe even friendlier than with Swap in the comics. Error's string don't have any code to control his soul with nor delete him with, so he's really not much of a threat to Dream. Of course, they could still tie him up, but Dream is kind of super strong, so if they are just strings and not controlling his soul, trying to grab him with them might actually be a detriment to Error instead. I feel like there's an argument to be made that Error could act the most 'out of character' around Dream should he be able to at least establish an acquaintanceship with him, but he would be a very hurtful figure until that happens.

Now the real debate is, is it actually possible to redeem Error? Canon seems to tell us errors are pretty much impenetrable fortresses when it comes to their original "obsession".

However, regardless of that debate, there is one other goal Dream would have:

They can't enter places where their respective emotions don't exist. That means wholly or vast majority negative, or wholly or vast majority positive. Just because Dream is in a universe doesn't make it a "positive universe". There are very few universes that restrict their movements, as you can imagine, and even they can be entered should a powerful enough swing of emotions occur. This means even genuine "positive universes," ones Nightmare can't enter easily, can be breached eventually

Personally for me i think metamy is also a sort of redemption for the characters as well. Mainly due to the fact that Amy's want for sonics attention really was not good for her shes constantly chasing a man who would never or could never reciprocate her feeling in either wanting to settle down or whatever, (or any other reason or headcannon) mainly because sonic is NOMATIC he is never bound to one place. He finds freedom and life as something to go on no matter the route.

Amy of course is not built for the nomatic life style nor do I think she could keep up with sonic. (Or at least be content with it) now I know home is where the family is but, her character is more home set, she values the people shes close to finds comfort in home life, and if shes constantly trying to keep up shed never have time to keep herself content. NOT TO MENTION sonic wouldnt be happy chained down to one place. PERSONALLY I believe the only person who could keep up with sonic is shadow, not because hes not tied by home and whatever but in a setting where he is able to live among the stars and travel I believe it would bring comfort and allow him to finally be at peace and start a better journey to heal from his past more and find comfort in sonics YIPPY attitude. (Even better if sonic doesnt date anyone 😏)

Metal, hes a whole mess... I really enjoy metamy because I think it helps metal become his own person. AT FIRST it might be because he thinks hes sonic and it would feed into both of Amy's and metals delusion, but later it could be a healthy manner on which they build on eachother, and make themselves happier. Making metal stay in one place and enjoy a slower life that what sonic could, would immediately divide their characters, since metals values can change. Since hes not tied to his set nomadic values like normal sonic. BUT BRO ITS SO BAD IN THE BEGINNING LIKE 😭😭😭 YES SHES DATING HIS REPLACEMENT 😭😭😭🥀🥀🥀🥀
