in retrospect it's making me smile that when Davepeta was created a majority of readers (incl. myself) were like wow this is crazy, they're gonna use their Moirail Powers to somehow soothe the Dirk and Equius parts of Lord English and that's how they're gonna win... it just makes too much sense... and then ON SIGHT Davepeta just starts beating the crap out of Lord English with swords and claws. the bit about the Crocker family tradition of taxidermying dead relatives always kind of stuck out to me as a weird oddity considering all the implication suggests it originated with Meenah, a troll, and a notable point is made that trolls do not care at all for the bodies of their dead. and then it clicked for me very recently that it's Meenah who tries to preserve her friends' souls by killing them during the scratch, and it's Meenah who keeps attempting to resurrect the troll race after their extinction even when she's given another planet to rule over entirely. attempting to preserve what she's lost is literally a specific character quirk of Meenah's
