“Call me Gianna, Kaven. It’s okay, I really don’t mind.” Her voice was soft as she sat down next to him, her features somber as she looked over at her brother. “I love you, you know that, right?” She said carefully, using her thumb to spread the foundation over his face so it was smooth and an even color across the entire surface. “I..I have to tell you something too..” She muttered, her eyes finally moving to look up at his. “I…I miss dad…I’ve been looking for him and there is no trace and I just…I want him…to come back..” Unable to take it any longer, she hugged her brother tightly, burying her face into his shoulder.
Hearing her ask to call her by her real name, he nodded gently. “Gianna, plese help me.” He sat down next to her, and seeing her features, he could feel his heart start to sink. He hated seeing her so sad. He hated seeing anyone sad, but his sister? His flesh and blood? She was all he had, and without her, he didn’t know where he would be. Heleaned his cheek into her touch and smiled weakly at her when she finished. “Thank you,” he said glancing at the mirror to see how it looked. He turned toward her when she mentioned she had to tell him something and stared at her, a curious gaze trained on hers. He didn’t know what to say at first, and was glad that she hugged him tightly. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and hugged her as if it would be their last. After a long silence, he finally replied. “I miss him too,” he admitted. “I miss...I miss being a semi-normal teenager and not having to go out into Hell’s Kitchen to keep up. I miss our family dates where we’d go out to Central Park.. I miss him so much, Gianna.” He set his shoulder on hers. “I wish I knew where he was. Just to know he’s.. okay, y’know?”
