SAILOR ELIZA !!

thomas smiled at eliza as she came in with the cookies, he took the plate from her and placed it on the table in front of them before he pulled her into him and they assumed their normal cuddling position. “i picked crazy stupid love. i haven’t seen it before, have you?” he reached over and grabbed two cookies, giving one to her and taking a bite out of the other one. “i think it should be good. it’s got steve carrell so i have high hopes.” he had no idea the thoughts that had been running through eliza’s head. and he didn’t know that he had anything to worry about. in the moment, he was content- he was just happy to be with her.

“ crazy stupid love ?? “ eliza questioned, thinking about it for a moment. “ no, i haven’t, “ she replied. “ besides school, where’s the farthest you’ve been ?? “ she asks, a random thought. but something she’s thought about. she’s never been anywhere aside from school. kansas was her home since birth and she’s never been outside of the state until she was fifteen and went away for school and her parents left her and her brother. she was curious, has thomas been places ?? did he want adventure ?? did he want to travel ?? she was antsy, she didn’t want to sit and watch movies and order takeout. she wanted to live.

“i love you so much zig. i’ll never leave you.” he took her hand and led her inside her own dorm, pulling her down on the couch into his lap. “what do you wanna do? maybe we can do something special to celebrate!”

“ hmm, “ eliza thought and put her head on his shoulder once they were on the couch. “ i don’t know, we could go and eat all of the things you couldn’t eat before ?? do something you couldn’t do ?? this is exciting !! “

“ i-- wow, that’s amazing !! “ eliza exclaimed and hugged thomas tightly as if she was never going to let go-- which she wasn’t. ever. “ you weren’t holding me back, tommy, “ eliza smiled softly and kissed his cheek. “ forever, “ eliza said and kissed him back, like they were kissing for the first time again.

the longer thomas had cancer the more eliza worried about him and worried about THEM. she could feel something between them— it wasn't good. she knew what he thought about the pair of them; that he was going to hurt her or something was going to happen along the lines that would hurt her. eliza always had faith that things would work out, she always had hope that thomas would get better ( she just hoped it would happen soon. ) hearing the knocking at her door, she put luna down and opened the door. it was like he was saying these things and she wasn't registering them. she was in SHOCK. a good shock, but still shock. she couldn't respond, she was so h a p p y. " that— oh my god, that's great! " eliza grinned wide and pulled thomas into another tight hug. " — it's... gone? they're sure about that? completely gone? " she just had to be positive.

thomas took her hands into his as they sat and pressed a quick kiss to the side of her head. “i would love some lunch, i’m sure it won’t be too hard to find somewhere.” he smiled down at her. he knew she had lied about her feet hurting, but the thought was kind. she didn’t want him to feel bad about holding them back. “liza, when we get back home, what are we going to do if i don’t get better soon? i don’t want to hold you back like this forever.”
