Music freak

I haven't seen anyone talking about this.

At a party in ep. 3 before Penelope tells Debling she "enlisted an eligible male friend to help her find a husband" we have this:

1) Lady Danbury is looking at something (or SOMEONE) with concern

2) Benedict approaches her trying to run away fro "hungry mamas"

3) in the corner there's certain redhead.

Now... I need someone to tell me if I'm seeing things or am I SEEING things, because it's been on my mind for few days and i honestly can't tell if Lady Danbury is really looking at Penelope or have I gaslighted myself into belivieng she is.

In general I like it. However.... my thoughts:

- I'm here for upbeat rock songs I can dance to!

- is it just me or the vocal production on some of the English songs sounds off? I really do not like effects on Damiano's voice. Seriously, wtf? The guy sounds amazing live. No doubt about it and someone thought it'll be a great idea to hide his vocals under fuckload of sound effects. Really? Whoever produced it should consider career change. When Supermodel was released I went on a rant about vocal production on it and here we are again....

- I like the fact that we can clearly hear Vic's bass. It's usually the guitar that shines. In fact musically I really, really like it. Someone can write songs these days and we CAN hear real instruments. (with the exception on supermodel imo).

- I'm honestly suprised they didn't manage to squeeze verse about cocaine into the loneliest... I feel like Damiano is still a little bitter about esc incident and while writing new songs he thought "You want dr*gs? I SHALL GIVE YOU THE DR*GS!"

- in the battle of the two upbeat radio singles between Supermodel and Gossip there can only be one winner - Gossip. I had it on repeat since it came out.

- "own my mind" is a great opener. "Supermodel", if it needs to be on this record, belongs in the first half. "The loneliest" would be way better closer.

- italian songs squished together between English ones - weird. Just weird. And I like these songs. But did I already said it feels weird? Because it does.

- "kool kids" will be a definitive skip for me. I get the musical reference. I get where the inspiration came from but the vocal production repuls me. If I hear live version in decent quality I might revisit my thoughts, but if it wasn't on the album I wouldn't care two shitts.

Måneskin and Tom Morello Break Down Their New Release 'GOSSIP'

I'm not gonna go into Italian vs English songs. A lot has been said.

My take on the subject:

They want to make it in America. It's their dream, so they're taking steps in that direction. They dream big.

One of the steps for them was being able to work with Max Martin on "Supermodel"

Max Martin is a bop maker. POP bop maker. No one can deny it.

I kinda dig this song. It's Måneskin after all.

HOWEVER

No one will be able to convince me, that Damiano's vocals sound good in this audio. And I mean NO ONE.

He's a fantastic, incredible, phenomenal (insert any praising adjective) vocalist. We've heard it many, many times.

What Max Martin did here on Damiano's vocals is, for lack of better word I'm gonna go with - abomination.

I don't have a perfect pitch or anything, but I just feel like there's shitload of effects put on his vocals to make it more...pop? Radio friendly? I really don't know how to explain it. It's like in a production process someone wanted to tame his voice... (I specifically mean the "she's a monster" part). It's like if I wouldn't know it's Måneskin it would take me a moment to be like "hey, it sounds like Damiano David, but not really".
