THE
SLYTHERIN CHEER UNIFORM
The Slytherin cheerleading uniforms are designed and perfected to reflect the house’s identity and strict aesthetic standards. Because the uniform rules are highly strict and allow very little room for personal variation, outfits are frequently changed between performances, with only three core uniforms rotating throughout the season. These uniforms are typically repeated only 2 times across the 12 performances, which include one before and one after each Quidditch match their team plays. Each uniform is as carefully planned and deliberately designed as the choreography itself, with equal attention given to presentation and performance.
colours
The colours used for the Slytherin cheerleading team uniforms, like those of every other Hogwarts house team, are strictly limited to their official house palette. As you may know Slytherin’s palette consists of silver, black, and various shades of green, which are incorporated in different combinations depending on the specific uniform design. No colours outside of this scheme are permitted ( except white ), as maintaining house identity and visual consistency is considered essential to the team’s overall presentation. The use of these colours is carefully balanced in each uniform to create a cohesive, polished look that reflects Slytherin’s traditional and refined aesthetic.
Shoes
Shoe choices vary depending on the performance and the specific uniform being worn. The most commonly worn and preferred footwear is the black and white or green and white saddle shoe. Although they are only moderately comfortable, they remain the favorite choice because of their polished, pristine appearance. For less important performances, girls may occasionally be allowed to wear alternative footwear, such as green and white sneakers, which are considerably more comfortable. Despite this option, most still choose the saddle shoes, as their refined look aligns with the traditional aesthetic preferred by purebloods. For the most important final performances, footwear is switched to black lace-up oxfords or black go-go boots. Although these options are very uncomfortable and make stunts more difficult, the Slytherin team insists on wearing them to emphasize the significance of these performances. The distinctive, formal shoes are chosen to highlight a polished and unique aesthetic, reinforcing the importance of the event. ( the more sane members of the team cast spells so the shoes are always as comfortable as needed when doing backflips and aerials. )
Tights
For uniforms that include tights, any style is permitted as long as it matches the approved colour scheme, which is limited to black and green ( depending on the uniform ). The style of tights varies from dancer to dancer. Some prefer floral patterns, while others opt for stripes etc, etc. This is one of the few elements of the uniform that allows the girls on the team to express their individual style within the overall dress code.
Hairstyles
Any hairstyle is permitted with any uniform, provided that at least half of the hair is tied back or secured away from the face. Only black, green, or silver hair ties, bows, and accessories may be used. The most popular styles include pigtails, half up half down looks, and various types of ponytails. These hairstyles are often elaborately styled to appear especially polished and elegant, reflecting the pureblood perfection and status.
