you levered yourself atop the breakroom counter, your face contorting in pain.
"ow." the word instinctively left your lips with a small wince. you lowered your chin to glance at the oddly formed purple bruise taking shape on your bicep.
typically, you would leave battle with few superficial cuts from debris, maybe a little blood trickling down from your forehead, however this was much different.
the mission did result in a success, you and other pro-heroes being able to safely secure civilians while battling with a grade A villain. it was a sudden fight, him and his group of villains really giving you a run for your money. a long-waited rest was practically screaming your name—just after the paperwork you have to file.
in the corner of your eye, the door swung open, a slight creak sounding from the motion.
katsuki, the other pro-hero who attended the mission waltzed into the room. his vermillion eyes not taking a second to find you. he approaches silently, the held eye contact conducting communication for you both.
he extends his arm towards you, his grip loosening around a pack of frozen broccoli. an eyebrow raise emitted out of you, your eyes bouncing from the broccoli back to his.
"ran out of ice packs." he read your expression. you slowly nodded, gently taking the gift from his hands.
"HPSC has a billion ice machines, how do we run out of ice." it was a rhetorical question, maybe one that had a little attitude, but fatigue prevented you from caring about your tone.
you lifted your arm and pressed the frozen package against your bicep. involuntarily, you sighed, your shoulders dropping with ease.
"someone really pushed themselves out there."
you sucked your teeth. "yeah. well, all in a day's work, right?."
katsuki's eyes dulled at you for a split second, an eye roll being sent your way. "really, y/n? not time to be crackin' your unfunny ass jokes."
"don't remember cracking one."
"then it's a really shitty fuckin' answer." he folds his arms. "thought you were the rational one out of us both." the last part he murmured under his breath, but you knew bakugou, he doesn't just say shit to go unnoticed.
you squinted your eyes at him, eyebrows furrowing in the process.
"i'm sorry, is there a problem? we finished the mission and saved civilians, so wha—”
“i don’t even want to hear the rest of whatever bullshit you were gonna spew.” katsuki interrupts you, his face contorts. “yes, there is a problem.”
he steps closer, not to intimidate you, but close enough so you could see his facial expression.
“problem between me and who?” it was another rhetorical question, you were aware he was picking something with you, but it didn’t seem plausible enough.
as if he wanted something to be angry about. which was typically true, it’s just you were never at the center of it. not even once.
“you put yourself in reckless fights all night. you don’t give yourself a break. you didn’t listen to any orders, not even my suggestions. now you’re sitting on top of a counter wincing in pain, all bruised, scratched up, and bleeding.” he states. “you were being impulsive and almost cost your life numerous times.”
a vein popped out of his forehead. if it didn’t hurt to laugh, you probably would’ve. instead, you drug your eyes away from his ruby ones.
unknowingly, the broccoli package slips out of your hands. it clinks when it hits the floor, your eyes glued onto it since it seemed much easier to look at than the angry blonde in front of you.
katsuki reached down and grasped the bag. rather than handing it back to you, he presses it against your wound, holding it steady for you.
“don’t be actin’ all stupid again.” his voice softened, but you assume it’s due to the close proximity.
you force a chuckle, your ribs aching from the action. “didn’t know someone cared so much.”
there was a silence. one that lasted a beat too long. you lifted your eyes at him, his irises already giving you attention.
“i wouldn’t be standing here holding this cold ass pack of broccoli if i didn’t.”
his words catch you off guard. it was true you and katsuki had been rumored to be some sort of ‘pro-hero dynamic’, but you two had a vibe that just clicked. it was typically nothing more, nothing less.
“you do?” taken aback wasn’t even the right word. katsuki wasn’t the one to even say something cute to an animal. so for him to admit he cared about you almost didn’t feel real.
he sighs, “you know what i mean. i’m not spellin’ it out for ya. just know, i’m not watching you run yourself into the ground.”
you nod, a small smile turning the corners of your lips. instinctively, you raise your hand and place it atop of his hand that was holding the broccoli against your wound.
“and next time you pull some shit like that, i’m draggin’ you out myself.”

very short drabble, but i love the subtle yet cute confessions. LIKE yesss make me work for it

you wiped away the traces of the gummy-bear shot you easily downed from the corner of your mouth. the other empty four gummy-bear shots quickly became tastier each swig.
the bass and electric guitar emitted from the bar's speakers, the instruments vibrating against your chest, perfectly in step with the warm buzz spreading in your stomach.
smooth, sensual music bounced off the walls with no apology to anyone's eardrums.
nightlife wasn't typically your type of scene. only few times you would appear if mina or jirou extended an invite. but somehow, you're inebriated with your friends at a club denki invited you to in celebration of kirishima's birthday.
you and kirishima were more so mutual friends, hence why the message from denki was surprising to say the least. once you learned mina and jirou received the same text message, any hesitancy you had before quickly vanished.
it was difficult to deny a good chance to destress.
or a good chance to see him.
ashamedly, you knew he would come, that thought alone setting your drive ablaze.
so when you notice bakugou's broad figure approaching, you’re unfazed, the alcohol already dulling any rational thought. as he drew nearer, the booming music drowned out any words he murmured to you.
"what?" you attempted to overpower the music.
katsuki inched closer to your face, his head cocked sideways towards your jaw. "you look real comfortable for someone who doesn't like clubs."
you let a playful scoff part your lips. of course, it wouldn't be bakugou without his ridiculous yet riveting banter.
"i'm here to celebrate kirishima." you shot back, deliberately brushing past his comment, not recalling when you mentioned that to him.
"to celebrate kirishima," he echoed doubtedly. "that's the only reason you came?"
you folded your arms, resting them underneath your breasts.
"yep. that's typically what friends do—attend their birthday parties to celebrate a year closer to death."
“uh-huh. if that’s what you want to call it." the familiar flirtation in his voice sent a sharp pang through your chest.
you knew katsuki's arrogance all too well. he adored knowing how much his presence affected others, whether it was good, bad, or just to get a reaction.
men like katsuki were easy to decipher. they valued strength, confidence, and adventure. serve it to them on a silver platter and they'd be eating it up in an instant. playing the game on him was almost too easy.
albeit, there was reason to believe katsuki was playing the same game with you.
maybe if he was a little less attractive, his argumentative, brash personality would be less compelling. but it was easier to blame everything on his massive biceps and ruby eyes. who would ever pass up something so sensual?
"what do you want me to say instead? if that's not the truth, then what is?" you dangled the hook, waiting for him to bite it.
"you didn't just come for kirishima." he said, his ruby eyes holding you accountable. "you came 'cause you knew i'd be here."
you sneered at his comment, warmth creeping up your face. you refused to give in, refused to let katsuki see even a hint of how right he was.
you tilted your head, lips quirking as you met his gaze. "really?" you said lightly, "that's funny, considering you were the one who came looking for me."
he wore an unreadable expression, caught somewhere between surprise and indecision. your chest hummed with satisfaction, like you just scored a private victory.
"hmph. guess i did." his gaze lingered, deliberate. "doesn't look like you're trying to get away." you couldn’t argue with that. after all, why else would you be wearing the shirt you’d bought months ago, saving it for the right moment?
"not seeing a reason to just yet." your finger curls around his as you guide him off, the music slowly softening as you move away.
you reached a hidden corner near the bathroom. it was quiet and dim, ideal for whatever impulse one of you decided to act on. he was close enough to make out his features in the darkness. close enough to notice his ruby irises drinking your body in.
his head tilted back slightly, eyes narrowing to read you better.
"didn't know the birthday celebration moved back here." laughter spills from your lips, it's stupid how easily he calls you out.
"you're an asshole, katsuki." you push at his chest gently, not nearly enough to move him. instead of stepping away, you leave your hand there.
his eyes follow the movement before settling on you again. "i know. doesn't seem to bother you much."
"what does that mean?" you asked, a laugh slipping out with the words.
"you're smart, y/n. you don't bring me somewhere dark and quiet for nothing." he leans forward slightly. "your hand on my chest. standing this close. all of it."
"yeah." the word leaves your mouth calm. “i know what i’m doing, and i know you do too. i’ve been reading you just as much as you’ve been reading me these past few months." your eye involuntarily squints at him, it almost sounded like he was over it?
he scoffed. “not what i’m talking about.”
his eyes left your body and fixed on the floor instead, like the ground might have the answer he didn’t know how to give you. his features scrunched slightly, indecision written all over them.
you shook your head, offering a small shrug, waiting for him to say whatever it was he was holding back.
he refuses to meet your eye for a while, until he locks eyes onto yours. he studies you for a long moment, red eyes sharp but uncertain around the edges, like he’s trying to figure out if he’s about to step off a cliff.
you examine him carefully. “what are you trying to say, katsuki?"
he wets his bottom lip, hands dragging through his hair. “you keep acting like this is nothing.” his jaw tightens. “it’s not nothing for me.”
he’s close enough now that you can catch the faint edge of alcohol on his breath. sharp. unfamiliar.
is this the drinks talking… or him? if it was the alcohol, you could survive it. blame it on the liquor. if it wasn't, that was different.
“are you going to feel this way tomorrow?” your eyes flicker briefly, your voice lowering.
"yeah." he says. "i'll feel it tomorrow. and the day after."
you examine his face, your smirk softening. if you’d known this was how the night would end with katsuki flushed and uncertain, eyes searching yours instead of challenging them, maybe you wouldn’t have spent the whole day pretending you didn’t care.
your body presses against his. "i wouldn't have brought you back here if it didn't mean anything." your voice below a whisper. "i came tonight hoping you would come looking for me."
a relieved grin breaks across his face.
"i knew it." he mutters, releasing a breath as if he was holding air. "yeah, well if we're saying shit now, i told denki to text you."
you gaze into his eyes, your smile becoming harder to contain. laughter spills from you, light and breathless, and you hear katsuki chuckle too. warmth spreads through your chest, still humming in satisfaction as you wrap your arms around him, his hands finding your hips like they were meant to be there.
“you know, you could’ve just asked me on a date a long while ago.” you inch closer to his face, your nose softly bumping his.
he’s drawn in by your radiance, following every small movement. his top lip brushes against your bottom one, slow and teasing.
“wouldn’t have been as fun,” he admits quietly. “you enjoyed it as much as i did.”
you cut him off before he can let his ego settle and press your lips against his.
his lips are unfamiliar, but somehow everything you’ve been waiting for at the same time. he kisses you softly—short and careful—like he’s getting a feel for you, taking in how worth all of this tension really was.
katsuki pauses. “you taste like… gummy bears.”
“someone’s gotta taste-test the shots. i volunteered.” you laugh into his lips.
“volunteered,” he echoes, shaking his head. “clever.” his lips find their way onto yours again. deeper this time, like he earned it. and truth be told, he earned it long ago.
others didn’t seem to understand katsuki, why he was so brash. but all he wanted was a challenge, and you had given him something he hadn’t accomplished before.
intimacy.
should i post a fanfic right nowww or tomorrow afternoon🌝
pov of mila hiding her bakugo obsession from her roommate. literally only write when shes out of the room.
anyway snippet of my new work😻😻 u guys seemed to like my fic of flirty bakugou
Can we edate please I have a Crush on you bad
LMAO WHAT!!! HOW
"you clean up nice." bakugou's voice hushed, slightly leaning into you as he lead you two forward. your arm was wrapped around his, your satin black glove rubbing against his egyptian cotton button-up.
you two were ordered to get 'spruced up' for an undercover mission in shibuya. there was a fancy venue, the home for illegal drug-dealing and where wanted villains wind down for a night of fun. instead of being told to arrest the villains, they were instructed to grab intel.
you slightly grinned. "yes, well, my wardrobe doesn't just consist of my hero costumes."
"y'know, any other person would've just said thank you." bakugou retorts. nonetheless, he chuckles at her statement.
"thank you, katsuki. you look handsome as well. never thought i'd witness even the tiniest bit of gel in your hair."
"what can i say,” a smirk tugged on his lips. “have to look good in order to be by your side."
you two made it to the front, katsuki showing two fake id cards to the bouncer in front that allowed you two to enter. the bouncer grabbed the cards from his hands and placed them on a scanner to the right of him. a small flash of green indicating that they were good to head inside.
phase one, passed.
“remember, hide behind figures. they know our faces.” you murmured only for his ears to fall upon.
instead of responding, he sent an acknowledging grunt.
inside was an expensive corridor. gold lined each and every column, the floor was laminated with a madagascan ebony tile. you could just almost see katsuki’s stubble in the floor’s reflection. through the window, you could see the waves crash onto the shore, bright spotlights surrounding the beach.
this home had a timeless elegance to it, one you’ve never seen before.
clearly, you two weren’t the only ones admiring the view. countless people—maybe over three thousand—were swarmed in areas around the house. some engaged in talk, some were shoving their tongues down each-others throats, drinking and smoking were being held in the living room, and of course gambling.
you could tell none of these people had a care of what could happen, just mindlessly doing whatever they wanted simply because they could.
“surprised madame president put us on this case together.” his words interrupted your thoughts. you peered at his fervent eyes, your eyes wandering to how perfectly he shaved for this mission.
you chuckled, “i asked her.”
his eyebrows slightly raised from shock. “no fuckin’ way.”
“it took some convincing.”
“yeah, i bet it fuckin’ did.” he blew air. “why’d ya ask for me? if anyone, maybe that cocky ass bird. seems like you two been yappin’ it up lately.”
a sneer escaped your lips. for a few months, madame president decided to pair you with hawks, mainly for PR among the crazed civilians but you two worked well together nonetheless.
of course he sent flirtatious comments, sometimes playful looks, but you didn’t expect anything different from him.
“we’re just work partners.”
he rolled his eyes. “work partners my ass.”
“i’m sorry, are you bringing this up right here? out of all times.” a hint of wit was embedded in your voice.
“seemed like the right time.” he shrugged. “you’re avoiding.”
“i’m not. besides, why do you care about who i’m involved with?”
“still haven’t answered my original question.” this time, he diverted your question. what a smart asshole.
a smile graced your face. he was so fucking stubborn, yet so amusing. he was a difficult person to configure, but it was even more difficult to not care for him.
throughout the years you’ve both been attached at the hip. you’ve had countless arguments, countless times patching each-other’s wounds by the kitchen sink, countless times of finding each-other during stressful interviews to seek comfort, countless times of choosing katsuki and him choosing you.
“i asked for you, katsuki, because i missed you.” you squeezed his bicep, your arm still linked with his.
you gazed at him. his ruby irises already locked onto yours. he maintained a stern look to uphold the disguises for the mission, but his eyes were gentle.
“don’t make it sound like i’m hard to find.” his voice was quiet, but filled with fondness. “y’know i don’t mind when you ask for me.”
“really? sometimes, i worry that i’d distract you from your work.”
“yeah, things get intense. but, i know what i’m doing,” he pauses and you could feel the hairs on his skin raise. “and where i want to be.”
this wasn’t the first time katsuki allowed you to see his inner softness. honestly, you were certain you’ve might’ve been the only one to witness it.
and you were certain that this wasn’t just a regular undercover mission like old times.
it felt like the world itself was holding its breath, and the first real air came only when you were close enough to feel each other’s heartbeat.
"with me?" it was stupid of you to ask. you knew exactly what he meant, but part of you was scared to even make that mistake.
he chuckled. you weren't sure if it was because of how idiotic your question was or if you mistaken it to be.
katsuki nods. "gives me a reason to stop pretending i wasn't already thinking about you." the tips of his ears turn vermillion. you noticed the tiniest curve on his lips, holding back from a slight smile.
speechless, you pull him closer by your linked arms, your cheek resting against his triceps.
"don’t get all soft now.” he says it, but it’s a tease, because he doesn’t move. all he wants is to be near you, to press close enough to feel your warmth and hear your quiet breath after so long. words are scarce, but every touch, every careful act carries everything you both feel. he’s yours, and you’re his. “we’ve still got a job to do.
and you’re okay with that. because missions feel lighter when he’s there, beside you—his presence like gravity, steadying you, wrapping around you until even the hardest moments feel like they belong to just the two of you.
like home.

omg 1,000 followers😭❤️❤️❤️ thank you guys sm!!! i value every single one of you and appreciate all of the likes, comments, and reblogs. 🎀💗
every room stood still. your kitten, katsuki insisted on naming 'skullcrusher', also didn't dare to move.
your head hung low, feeling the stuffy air sneak into your lungs. you glanced at the clock on your watch. 7:19. the usual time katsuki arrived at the doorstep.
normally, you'd rush to the door, showering your boyfriend with short pepper kisses on his face. but you remained on the velvet couch, the same couch you picked out when house shopping with katsuki.
a click sounded, indicating the door was recently unlocked. you harshly breathed in the same stuffy air, forcing yourself to swallow the panic that resided inside of you.
katsuki slugged through the door, immediately dropping his bag at the front door. his eyes met yours then to the kitchen, his face contorting slightly at the sight. it was empty?
"no food. what's up with you?" his words came off more formidable than he liked, especially when he knew something wasn’t right.
katsuki inched towards you, his eyebrows wearing an expression of its own. they were furrowed, his right eyebrow a little deeper than the other.
"katsuki," you started, breaking your words off.
he slightly cocked his head in confusion and worry. as he came closer, not only did he see your presence shaking alongside the couch, but he also saw two suitcases behind you that were clearly filled to the brim.
you watched how his eyes widened, how his teeth unclenched leaving his jaw to drop. his ruby irises instantly shot back towards you, scanning your face for any signs that you were playing a joke on him.
"what the fuck." the words leave his mouth too quick for him to register.
you swallowed nothing. "katsuki, we need to talk."
"talk?!" his mouth opened to continue yet no words seemed to come. oddly enough, for the first time, he was speechless.
"i-i need you to listen to me." you hated the fact that you stammered on your words.
"and then what?!" he paused, "you leave me?" katsuki's voice lowered in volume, a tone of angst leaked within his words.
you attempt to stand strong. you weren't even sure if this was the right choice now by looking at his wounded face.
slowly, you nodded.
"yes."
katsuki was expecting that. hell. who wouldn't when their girlfriend has two suitcases behind her? but hearing the words leave her mouth was entirely different. it was like a shot through his heart, the bullet penetrating every piece of restraint he had.
his head turned to the side. he was battling his thoughts; every fucked up thing he did occuring to his mind.
"is it because i left my bloody rag on the counter the night before? because if so, i promise to god, i will never do it again. i know how much you despise it." he went on his own plethora, his words and body language holding enormous amounts of panic.
"katsuki." you reinstated again. if he went on like this much longer, you were afraid you'd never have the strength again to walk out of the door.
"or because i yell too loudly at ungodly hours?" he ignored your words.
"katsuki." you repeated.
"i understand i'm not the easiest person. fuck. i'm even shocked i've gotten this far." he rambled, not caring about a word you have to say. he had to say something, do something, in order to convince you. bargaining with all of his strength. "what have i done? what do i need to fix?"
you reach for his hand, molding your hand to fit in his. you placed your open hand on top, soothing small circles into his skin.
"it's not you, katsuki."
katsuki's face fell. "then, why are you leaving me?"
"i can't live like this. i was not taught to be a housewife. to clean, cook, wait for your arrival every night at seven o'clock just to eat dinner with you." you shook your head. "i don't have a job or even a hobby! i am stuck within these walls everyday, the paparazzi at damn near every corner doesn't help either. i am exhausted being alone all day."
you could feel the sweat accumulate on katsuki's palms.
"i'll tell the media to back off. i swear to it. a-and, i know somebody who's looking for help with their business, i can set it u—"
"katsuki, i am miserable here!" you interrupted his words, slightly raising your voice. "i can't do it anymore! you are a pro-hero, dedicating your life to these people everyday. and what am i doing? making sure that your stomach is filled and that there's no stains on a countertop!"
katsuki was quiet, allowing the words to settle in. taking the moment of silence of advantage, you slipped your hands from his.
"you're a pro hero. you've made the ranks. you've accomplished everything you've hoped for." you sighed. "i just don't fit within your schedule."
katsuki remained silent, reality now kicking in for him. he bit the inside of his cheek to restrain the tears that were welling in his eyes.
"i'm sorry. i truly, really am. i just need to accomplish my own goals before it's too late."
katsuki's eyes fell to the ground, a very slow nod coming from him. he cleared his throat, also sniffling to remove the snot that was aching to run down his nose.
"where will you be staying?"
you echoed his action from earlier, turning your head sideways. you couldn't face him anymore after utterly destroying his heart.
"it's best if you don't know."
he paused. "right."
you spun on your heel to bend down behind you, grabbing your overly stuffed suitcases. you increased the height on the handles, slowly trudging them towards the door.
you couldn't believe that this was happening. it was a last minute decision. lying down in bed, realizing that if this continued, you'd be nothing more but a trophy wife that's made no true accomplishments on her own.
you were more than that. more than a cleaner and cook.
"i didn't accomplish everything." katsuki broke the silence.
you halted your steps, peering at him over your shoulder. you hoped he took the silence as permission to continue.
"i wanted to marry you. have a big ass wedding reception and drink until we could barely see anymore." he dryly chuckled. "maybe even have a few flowergirls of our own. that goal mattered more to me than any accomplishments i've made before in this life." your heart clenched at the fact.
tears covered your vision, your breathing starting to become sporadic.
"you can keep skullcrusher." you faced forward, grabbing the door handle. "i love you, kats. thank you for everything." your words trembled, tears uncontrollably streaming down your face.
as the door shut behind you, katsuki buried his face into his hands, and cried like a little boy in his now empty, silent home.
