✧ Some people might hate routines, love stepping outside the box, and doing something new. Sophia wasn’t totally against that, but she knew you didn’t appreciate it as much as other people did. She didn’t complain; in fact, she thought it was cute how you had your little daily ritual.

✧ She learned to eat breakfast in silence—since you had a strong tendency to be nonverbal in the morning. She’d sit with you at the table, shoulders close enough to touch, jotting down a few numbers in the little Sudoku notebook you always worked on in the morning.

✧ Sophia’s routine was a thousand times more unpredictable than yours, but she always found a way to make sure you didn’t feel stressed by it. Whenever she traveled somewhere else, she always brought you a little Montessorian toy. Even when you insisted you didn’t need one, she’d always catch you holding one of the toys when something was stressing you out.

✧ You never imagined you’d be in such a great relationship. But the way Sophia was made you want to go out of your way for her—even when she said you didn’t need to.
