Shit has been tough lately. Mostly by my own stubbornness to always be my own hero even when it's clear that I need some support. It's a lesson I learn over and over a few years apart each time. It's my own flaw that I recognize and work on daily. But I am standing strong. You can take my job, my home, you can even take my money but you cannot and will not take away my drive to kick it away and move forward. Core de Force has been amazing. This is my before and after from tonight's running speedwork. You can see that before I wasn't sweaty and after I am, the usual expectations. What you don't see is all what happened DURING the run. During most runs I experience a million thoughts and some form of mini victory and transformation. Most days it's the victory in not quitting and getting it done. Some days like today - it's deeper than that. I have bronchial asthma. That means I deal with asthma and its symptoms 24/7 - not just when I exercise. When I first started running - I needed a twice daily inhaler, the rescue inhaler during workouts and a pill. It was frustrating but as I kept training, I needed less. Until I needed my inhaler basically only once before a race and maybe once again during in certain weather. Coming back to speedwork after injury, and this awful humidity, I needed my inhaler before and during EVERY run. Until today. Today was speedwork and I only need it BEFORE!!! That is a HUGE victory. And one you can't tell from just a photo. These before and afters and transformations you see every Tuesday are MORE than just the appearance. They are about health and self image, diseases battled and ailments overcome. They are shared not to sell you some product - they are shared to let you know that it IS possible! That you can overcome and take what could be an excuse and turn it into your reason and your why. They are the truths that each coach has lived and is living - much more trustworthy and real than any corporate commercial. We do this together. My small non scale victory is my coach's victory, too.
