#various stages of me getting up in the morning
Yup.
America: our education system needs to improve!
American education: we need another standardized test and more homework!
Finland: actually, we became one of the worlds' best education systems by getting rid of homework and standardized tests - also, we pay our teachers better than you.
China: same
Belgium: same
American education: better make it two more standardized tests.
This is my little performer. Here he is acting out a scene from Monsters University. The snail monster that is very slowly trying to get to class. Gabe had already shuffled through the dinning room and back once, this was the second round. This kid will do anything for a laugh.

Selfie Saturday
The boys are pretending to be Mortal Kombat characters making up their own fatalities. Poor Bruce the bear is receiving all the beat downs. At one point they were all huddled around the bear about to annihilate him, it was very intense and adorable all at the same time.
#tbt I’m blasting the Labyrinth soundtrack today. We watched the movie last night with the boys so I needed to hear the songs again :) Don’t be jealous.
Found this on a bulliten board at school.

Things we do for fun (besides play with toys, watch tv, and play video games): Listen to read along books on records. Try on odd hats and things at Target. Attempt to fly. Run around in open fields.
Amos REALLY wants a whoop-tee-whoop hot wheels track (loopty loop)
They really enjoy re-enacting their favorite parts of shows and movies. Here they are doing their favorite part of Frankenweenie.
Connor, Gabe, and Amos dancing outside Panera to smooth jazz music.
This is Batman, played by Amos, eating a Bat Apple. He seriously does a good Batman voice for a 3 year old

Connor is reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for Reading. I just wanted to share a really great resource if any other families were considering reading this book. It's from cslewis.org. They have a chapter by chapter vocabulary and comprehension guide. As well as values based activities and quizzes. Now, they only have these resources for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. There are not guides for all 7 Narnia books. But what they do have is free and detailed enough to really study what happened in each chapter. Really good stuff here and I highly recommend checking it out. Here's the link: http://www.cslewis.org/resource/lewisguides/
Ella spent nearly a year studying foxes, and she filled our home with drawings of foxes and stuffed foxes she sewed. A couple of months ago, she decided she wanted to write a book about different types of foxes. She used a pack of index cards to take notes from a variety of library books and...
Wow! That is foxy dedication right there! Super impressive! I would love to have a copy of her fox reference book :) I'm sure my boys could learn a lot from her book.
