9. a tear drop perhaps? 🐻
The area surrounding you two are dark, save the two candles lit in the center of the small dining table of Beomgyu's studio apartment. "Wow, candle light dinner on a first date? Fancy." You joke and Beomgyu laughs before pulling out the chair for you to sit on.
"For the lady." He bows, playing along the act.
"What a true gentleman." You place a hand on your chest, following the character of a noble lady.
"Here are the cookies by the way." Beomgyu eyes the tray of bear shaped desserts on your hand, the aroma greeting his senses like a gateway into heaven. "Shit, Yn. This smells amazing." His mouth waters. "Can I take one now?"
The boy before you practically jumps at your approval. His hand reaching over the warm cookies before taking a bite. You watch him quietly, half scared half nervous that he isn't going to enjoy them.
Fortunately, your anxious thoughts remain untrue. "Have some yourself, Yn." He says. "Gosh, what did you put in here? This is crazy."
"A love potion maybe." Your shrug, reaching your hand for a cookie.
"A tear of human sadness, perhaps?" He raises an eyebrow like he's testing the waters.
"No way! You watch descendants too???" You catch his reference quick and you almost see him breath out a sigh of relief.
"Okay that was kinda risky but worth it. Yes I watch descendants and like every other disney musical." He takes another bite of the cookie and after that, conversation flows like water in an easy stream.
Ten minutes has passed now and the power has yet to foreshadow a return to the building. It's kinda odd, really. Don't apartment buildings usually have their own generator to back up inconveniences such as these? But you don't think that, you are too busy debating Beomgyu instead.
The light in your voices is a contrast to the lack in the setting. He laughs at your jokes, and you at his counter. You talk as if you've known each other far longer than you do.
"Wait wait, so you're telling me you've spend like over a million won now in popmart due to your hirono addiction?" The boy before you gasps in disbelief. "Are you loaded or what??"
"No! I mean I wish. But I have a part time job, you know...and it's not like I buy them all at once." You reason, an attempt to defend yourself.
"Well you spend millions of wons in guitars! Which I just knew you could play, by the way." Your eyes shift to the silhouettes of his guitars in the corner.
Beomgyu chuckles. "Well, new fact about me every day. You play?"
"I dabble." You shrug and Beomgyu nods. "We should play together sometimes."
You open your mouth to answer, but as if on que, the power returns, and now you obtain a full view of the interior of his apartment.
His apartment is similar to yours in layout. But his furniture and color scheme remains a distinct opposite. You see his gaming set up, the photographs he hung on the wall near the bedside table, dark drapes that covers the balcony. It surely was different yet it was so him.
"Yes, oh my gosh. We should definitely sing "if only" together one day." You can see his smile clearly now thanks to the light.
"Well the light's back on." You point out. But honestly you were enjoying your time with him. "Yeah." He answers, his voice a bit heavier than usual.
"Thanks for letting me come over." He leads you towards the door, stopping only when you reach yours. "Anytime. And thank you for the cookies."
"Do you mind if I keep the rest and share them with my friends? They're coming over tomorrow soo." Beomgyu looks at you with those hopeful eyes. And you can't deny how handsome he looks even from the start.
"Those are all for you, Gyu. Don't even need to ask."
"You. Are. A. Godsent." He opens the door for you as you tap in the access card of your apartment. "My lady." He bows and you laugh for the nth time, taking in the sight of him before finally entering your home.
"Thanks for today, dear sir. I really enjoyed our candlelit snack." You're already inside, but your body still remains in the doorway, mere centimeters from Gyu who is leaning on the side of your door with a smile painted on his face.
"Me too princess. Let's talk more soon. Have a good night, beautiful."
