SYN . after witnessing your fangirl session about Dean Di Laurentis from the new show Off Campus, James takes it upon himself to remind you that you too have a blonde boyfriend that used to play hockey.

The lights in the living room are out and darkness sheaths every corner of your shared apartment like a warm blanket. Well except for your ipad's brightness illuminating the room from the cushions of the couch like one giant flashlight.
Twilight is approaching and James is yet to make his appearance home. You don't mind though. You're too busy immersing yourself into the show your friend has been begging for you to watch while being buried underneath your heavy blanket and that giant narwhal plushie James won for you on your first date.
You don't attempt to hide your inner thoughts to yourself. Your fawn and giggles spilling from your lips like an everlasting fountain. The screen focuses to the second lead couple—Dean and Allie. And for one second you forget that you're currently waiting for your boyfriend to get home.
"Gosh that was so hot." You gasp, hand over your mouth as you watch one of the scenes unfold.
"What was?" A voice whisper to you from behind. Your heart jumps at the sound, definitely not expecting an adrenaline rush so late at night. You snap your head back, only to meet the sight of James Chao, a curious look feigned across his features.
"James—baby, oh my—okay you did not have to do that." You sit up, turning your body to his direction fully facing him now.
He then laughs. His hand moves to ruffle your hair before ushering your head closer to give it a gentle kiss. "Why are you not asleep, pretty?"
"Oh right. I wanted to wait for you and while doing so I remember I still had to watch this tv show my friend recommended. And that leads to where we are right now."
"Way to kill two birds with one stone." He nods. "By the way, you know you didn't have to wait for me, baby." James offers you a small smile, his whisker dimples making an appearance.
You take his face into your hands. Your fingers toying with the supple skin of his cheeks. "Nooo but I wanted to okayyy. I'm not being forced or anything."
James surprises you by suddenly leaning in to kiss the tip of your nose in a swift motion, triggering the warmth to spread across your chest. "I'm all sweaty from dance practice. Wait for me to shower a bit and maybe you can tell me all about the show? And we should probably move to the bed."
He leaves you to your own devices after your nod. And you're also quick to move to the bedroom for a more comfortable setting.
You smile widely at the screen on your lap. The sight of Dean Di Laurentis's dimpled smile takes over your entire thoughts that you don't even notice the bed dipping beside you.
James takes in the sight of his girlfriend smiling to brightly at the character behind the frames. He tries hard to ignore the jealousy creeping slowly on his heart.
So what if you're a bit too happy watching these guys. I mean they're fictional anyways. And seeing you smile is an enough reason to make him mirror that feeling as well.
But he's still a bit jealous though. Doesn't matter.
"So, care to indulge this poor boyfriend on whatever's been keeping my lovely girlfriend occupied?" He shifts closer to you. Arm looping itself around your shoulders in autopilot and you lean on his chest in response.
You tug your ipad closer and start to tell him the whole plot and characters of the show.
"So it's called Off Campus—based from a novel series. It's about these hockey guys and how they find love I guess. And the main lead for the first season is these guys." You replay the episode until you find the two leading couple in one frame.
James locks in on your full explanation. Taking note of the drama and gasps at the twists as you spill all the details.
And finally you get to the second leads. "This is Allie, the main character's best friend and her love interest, Dean. He's the male lead's best friend."
"Wait that's cute. So it's gonna be like two best friends dating best friends." He points out and you agree. "Right?!"
"So this one's the one that got you smiling so brightly?" James nudges his head towards the screen that's now displaying your favorite male character, Dean.
"Why? You jealous?" You wiggle your eyebrows at the man behind you and he rolls his eyes dramatically.
"Me? James Chao? Jealous? Puh-leasee."
"Ohh you so aree." You're fully turned to him now. Ipad long forgotten under the sheets of your bedcover as you pinch the cheeks of your adorable boyfriend.
"My second boyfriend is jealous of my real man." You joke and James fake scoffs before his lips curl into a mischievous tone.
He whispers to your ear. "Does your real man know that you're currently in bed with some other guy right now?"
You hum, playing along. "Of course not. I'm discreet, you see."
James only nods before pulling you into him. You're now sat on top of his lap. His arm one curled at your waist and the other on your cheek. "Does he know that I can do this?" You tilt your head slightly and James takes that as an opening to drag his hand down from your cheek to the hilt of your neck before pulling you into a deep kiss.
You smile into the kiss. Lips melting into one soft motion. James swallow every laugh and giggles you spill before he starts to pepper kisses all over your face like a blank canvas that needed color.
"James—baby. Stop-" You giggle at every kiss he place. Eyes forming into crescents as you both reach an epiphany of love.
"Can't I give some love to my beauty?" He stops to look up at you. His eyes glistening with the look of love you've only seen in movies and read in books. You run your fingers through his damp blonde locks before reaching down to reward him with another kiss.
Your lips meet once more in a short and sweet peck. "You know I used to play hockey when I was younger." He starts. His finger curling your hair as he brags.
You roll your eyes fondly. "Yeah baby, I know. You told me a hundred times now."
Jamea shrugs. "I mean I'm blonde and I play hockey. I think I'm starting to see a pattern here...." He trails off, a smirk strategically placed on his lips.
"Not that I'm jealous or whatever, but I think you got yourself a Dean Di Laurentis in campus." He puffs his chest, a pleased expression taking over his features.
"In campus? Really?" You lift your eyebrow at your boyfriend and he only shrugs. "That was funny, you have to admit that."
Your eye rolls are sometimes caused by annoyance, yet the curve of your smile and the chuckle that left your lips makes it a different story to tell. You move back to your side of the bed before grabbing your forgotten ipad.
Both of you return to your original positions. With James's arm draped around you and your head leaned against his chest, you watch the remaining duration of the show in his embrace. Giggling, gasping and fawning over scenes together like lovesick teenagers.
"Can we be Jlo and Maverick for halloween?" You tilt your head up to him as you point at the second leading couple clad in Jlo and Maverick's clothing in a certain costume party.
"Anything for you, angel. I might need to bulk up a bit more to look the part though." His hands move to pinch your cheeks, fingers toying with the skin for a little while.
"You know I love you right?" You try hard to smile amidst his fingers.
"And I love you more, beauty." He pinches your cheeks one last time before ushering you up into another deep chaste kiss.
