Finally convinced my cat-loving husband to get a puppy and we could not be happier 🥰 She’s the sweetest little cuddler whose favorite place is on your lap with her head in the crook of your elbow. I’ve wanted a basset hound for FOREVER and am absolutely in love with her and her dopey face and floppy ears 💕 ⠀ ⠀ We’ve been going back and forth with naming her, but I think we’ve settled on Millie, which is the crowd favorite too. During my last year of grad school, I had a vivid prayer experience where I found myself dancing with Jesus wearing a wedding dress. Naturally, my mind started to jump to conclusions and thoughts of “um…does this mean I’m supposed to become a nun?” but something in Christ’s face told me to stop worrying and just focus on Him. ⠀
⠀
And so, we danced.⠀
⠀
And at the end of the song, Jesus led me to a figure who, even though I couldn’t make out his features, I knew was my future husband. ⠀
⠀
Almost two years later, I was praying in the chapel of a retreat center and, out of nowhere, my heart jumped back to that experience I had all but forgotten. Only this time, I was wearing the wedding dress I had chosen a month earlier and knew exactly who Jesus would bring me to when the song was over.⠀

And so, we danced. ⠀

Honeymoon Day 9: We took a boat tour to Koh Phi Phi for our last full day in Phuket. The tour required a 4:00am wake up call and the rough water / maybe the snorkeling (?) left me with my first case of sea sickness (which is a treat, let me tell you) and this man loved me through it all. Honeymoon Day 5: We headed into the mountains to raft down a river and hang out with elephants at our next Air BnB @chailaiorchid, which has an awesome mission and heart for empowering women and caring for elephants. I’m noticing some new friends around here, so how about some #Fridayintroductions with the theme of ways that I am turning into my mother - maybe others can relate 😂⠀ ⠀ 1) Never in my life did I think I would enjoy a drink with tomato juice. My mom’s go-to on a flight is V8, and while you won’t catch me drinking that alone, add some Bloody Mary mix, vodka and apparently an entire meal and I here for it. 🍅⠀ ⠀ 2) My plans this weekend are pretty much all garden centered 🌱 If you told 8 yr old Sarah she would choose to spend her time in the dirt helping things grow she’d 100% think you were nutty. ⠀ ⠀ 3) I’ve also inherited my mom’s ability to make up song lyrics about everyday items and tasks and audibly sing them even if people are around. Michael does the same though, so maybe I’m getting that from too much time with him. . . I don’t know if that makes it better or worse 😂⠀ ⠀ 4) Last, but not least, are the number of times things have come out of my mouth and I’ve literally had to pause because they sounded just. like. my. mom. 😳⠀ ⠀ Anyone else out there slowly turning into the woman that raised them? We got back to the Air BnB around midnight on our first night in Nashville, most of us exhausted from travel and excitement.
