I BEG that for red baron’s eng dub, they give him a proper Scottish smoker voice. Like you can hear the raspiness and pain in his throat every time he speaks, and also for whatever damn reason, every time I read him speaking, I just hear Jamie macdonald.

Starting off with Evil eye just so happy to see his mother figure

Now I absolutely adored this next fight scene. And I love how tatsu portrayed this cowboy guy, as it felt like such an amazing portrayal of an assaulter. The idea that, it’s not his fault, it’s his body reacting that way.

The idea that because Aira can’t defend herself against him, she “wants” it is so true to what many abusers think it’s disgusting.

As well as the cowboy guy trying to convince her she feels the same, despite her constant rejections. Tatsu really is now leaning into how young girls are ESPECIALLY vulnerable against all kinds of men and abusers, seen previously with Rin and Kouki. I do feel that he did touch on it with Momo in the beginning, but now it’s more loud about it, as it should be.

Now, onto what every path will always lead to

And that’s Aira’s queerness.

This feels like it’s saying so much more than just Okarun.

Especially in the recent chapters, Aira’s language has been very vague.

There are two possibilities here.

Option A : I’m reading into this and being a delusional idiot

Option B : This is all incredibly intentional. IF Aira is bisexual, then all these scenes are slowly pointing us towards that. The double meaning of “I know it’s not that easy, to accept what you have to.” That could very much be her just talking about her love for okarun being unrequited, but the way it’s phrased just feels like it’s more. She could’ve very easily have said “I know it’s not that easy, to accept someone doesn’t love you back.” It’s like she’s talking about her own identity, accepting a piece of herself she’s rejected for so long. Especially with “what people feel is their own business.” She’s still struggling with her own feelings, understanding it takes time.

Same for this scene in a previous chapter.

This could just be Aira still loving Okarun despite her feelings being unreturned. But it also could be her talking bout her love for both Momo and Okarun.

Aira feels different to any other character who “could” be queer. A lot of the times, in fanon queer ships, there’s always something missing. It’s the potential that they hold, but there’s a piece that won’t ever make it true. The author never intended for it, it’s just something that fans have dug their claws into and added their OWN ideas into it. The fans have to complete it themselves, so it’ll never be official.

But Aira doesn’t feel like I need to compensate for the missing parts of her character that would make her queer. It just feels like I’m examining what’s happening than adding it to myself, which is why I believe all this to be very real evidence for Aira being bisexual.

Ok I phrased that poorly but you probably get the point. Queer Aira is already here, we just need to look in the right places. We don’t need to “make” her queer.

anyway uhhh half assed red baron theory

As established in chapter 227, his power is little red riding hood. And each power that is part of the fairytale thing, is also connected to the characters individual story.

And with the release of chapter 239, I have small theories.

The general story of little red riding hood is a little girl goes to visit her grandma, who’s been killed and a wolf sits in her place trying to imitate her, trying to bring little red riding hood closer so the wolf can eat her. And then a lumberjack comes in and saves her by chopping off the wolf’s head.

Now here’s probably what it is : Vlad is the wolf in this scenario. I mean just look at him, he’s got very wolfish features. The teeth, the eyes, the hair. And red baron is being tricked in this very moment, losing his powers.

This is a much more abstract and bullshit theory, but especially with her sudden change in personalities, I felt it was good to bring it up.

Gilles de rais is the wolf. In her introduction in chapter 234, she’s very intense and also classist. A big switch from the seemingly outcasted and sweet woman we saw in chapter 239.

I mean, she literally says herself that she is in fact very different to her appearances.

Now this brings me to the theory that Gilles de rais could be manipulating and deceiving red baron into working tirelessly to rebuild their family, understanding how he feels about her and playing into that role. And that’d be a very interesting path to take, as it’d contrast to Aira’s own story in a way. Aira wears a sweet mask so people will like her, but underneath she has a flawed view of relationships usually resulting in “If I do X, Y will happen.”

Gilles de rais also wears a sweet mask seemingly, but her intentions are very different from Aira. Aira, despite her way of going about it, DOES have good intentions. She does want to love and to be loved. Gilles de rais current personal goals aren’t said yet, but we can assume that part of it is rising higher into the social hierarchy within all this rich people bullshit.

Gilles de rais feelings for Red Baron may be some form of affection or love, but it’s still entirely possible that she is using him with the same mentality Aira uses “If I do X, Y will happen.” But now she could be using these ideas strategically. She’s the captain of Vlad’s personal guard, she’s gotta be smart for that, so i wouldnt put it past her.

Also her mask looking like it was split in half is also another indicator, more often than not one of those halves are shades.
