Kate Is Just A Girl

There are so many times when I look at my life and situations I'm in right now and I complain. I wish Jon and his job weren't so far, I wish the wedding was sooner, I wish I had friends that lived closer, I wish I didn't have all these minimum paying jobs. 

But then I step back and realize the very things I'm complaining about are things to be thankful for. I'm thankful that Jon got a wonderful job in a really great area. I'm thankful that I'm getting married to an awesome and devoted man in May, surrounded by friends and people who love me. I'm thankful for friends, no matter how far away they are because they can still impact my life. I'm thankful for 3 jobs that are helping me pay my bills, they paid for my car which in turn helps me visit Jon (and my far-off friends) more.

I was not made for retail life. I was not made to work 3 jobs.

I'm sorry you can't upload a single picture of yourself without having to edit away any "blemishes" you think you might have.

I'm sorry you carry your makeup bag and mirror with you wherever you go and fix your makeup 3 times during the short time we hang out.

I'm sorry you spend all your money on hair dye because you don't think your natural hair color is pretty enough.

I'm sorry you always feel the need to put down your looks so someone else can step in and comfort you by telling you how pretty they think you are.

Her hair cut and big F U attitude is her way of getting back the attention. Whether the feedback she gets is good or not makes no difference.

So when you post about what a terrible role model she is, how bad her haircut is, and her terrible 90's attire, you are giving her what she wants.

I posted about one of my #thriftwin stories on my blog! So excited about this cute dress I snagged.

There is a lot of crap that goes on in the world. There are failing economies, murders, rightful freedoms are being stripped away, and morality is being treated like a fad from a distant era. Every where you look it seems like the world is getting worse and you are programmed to fail right along with it.

But I have a hope that can't be limited by circumstances. A hope that understands my situation, but knows that my God can work despite those situations because He isn't restricted by earthly conditions.

I have not the faintest idea what the future holds. No idea where I'm going to live when I get married. How all my loans will get paid off and all my monthly bills will be taken care of. But this one thing I know. I can always hope that better things are ahead, that my needs will be taken care of, that career opportunities will open up for my fiance and I, and that any dire situation I may face can be repaired or removed.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do, but hope. Be prisoners of hope.

On Saturday my boyfriend popped the question. One simple question and my simple answer turned my boyfriend into my fiance and me into a bride-to-be. 

And how gorgeous is this ring? I'm so in love with it!
