Thank you, dear! 😊 I have been getting a very random bunch of hate, but I do think it's just because I'm making longer posts now lol. I have 0 idea what is happening on Twitter, so if there are screenshots, I have no idea. I even remember asking that question in a post about that a few days? weeks? ago. Anyway, don't worry about it; I just delete them because they really aren't as bad as being a Korra defender on main before getting doxxed 💀 😂

Honestly, there are so many more under the #tlg critical and #tlg hate tag, but these are the creators that I see so often on my tl that I can name them off the top of my head, and I'm so bad with remembering users.

I absolutely think we need more people on the TLG (and GCU) hate train, because it's not even hateful, honestly. It's the kind of criticism that is just so validating, and most blogs I see talking about these issues are kind about it, and they make sure to leave room in case they are wrong! A lot of proof is brought into it; not many people go on this tag and talk falsely, you know?

And the perspectives I see every week are AMAZINGGG. Like, so many different points I would never ever think of are brought up; the variety of experiences that everyone has makes this so beautiful!!!

I feel like a lot of this fandom doesn't engage with real life hockey, which is a bit disappointing since it has such interesting implications for characters in HR. I understand that not everyone wants to engage because of the negatives of hockey culture, and a lot of people use media as escapism, and it gets weird when real life stories are used in fanfic, but I feel like people should know what a little bit about what they're trying to escape from

What's kind of funny about the hockey part of Heated Rivalry is that I started watching IRL hockey because the background noise was great while I was studying for an entrance exam wayyyy back in summer 2025. After that, I found out about the NHL schedule, found a few TikTok accounts that made cute "Here's what you need to know about the NHL!" slideshows, and boom, I was hooked.

When you say, "a lot of people use media as escapism, and it gets weird when real life stories are used in fanfic, but I feel like people should know what a little bit about what they're trying to escape from," I really agree with you, especially with my own journey through this exact same situation.

I used to be a part of the "turn your brain off sometimes dammit" group because early fandom experiences ruined my ability to GAF about issues that come up in fandom discourse/problematic stuff. I was like 7-14, on Tumblr, getting into fights about certain things being so obviously racist even to my tiny ass, and the doxxing threats were crazyyyy.

Ofc, the type of person I am now at 19 is that I know everything in the world can boil down to racism. Still, at 15-18, I purposefully didn't seek any of it out since I was so damn burnt out I couldn't do anything in fandom spaces after those first experiences, except enjoy the media, read and comment on fanfic, and study for exams, study for good grades, study for college, etc.

It wasn't until January of this year, after actually watching the show, that I realized, damn, maybe I should research this sport. And then I thought to myself, DAMN 💀, this sport has the least amount of progress ever 😩. Maybe I should switch over to the PWHL 😭 So that's my background noise now 😊

Finally, I was reading the books slowly (I think I finished all the books by March/April?) after I listened to the HR & TLG audiobook, AND I WAS JUMPSCARED. With the audiobooks and the beauty of the HR show, I had superimposed my own headcanons and assumptions into the story I was listening to. But as I read slowly and took my time, I was being assaulted by the sheer insanity of the story. That's why, around May, you can see my posts start getting bitter about TLG, and then in June-now I am properly making TLG-hate posts.

Well, I believe that it applies to every other emotion as well. They feel anger, resentment, pain, irritation, regret, guilt etc deeply too. Thus a person who feels deeply can also be highly irritable, angry, even extremely moody depending on the situation they're in. They're not always sitting quietly in deep thought as they are thought to be.

It also depends on an individual's way of expressing their emotions, regardless of their depth. Therefore to label them as generally melancholic or energetic would not be correct.

I don't like categorizing or fitting people in a box, therefore I won't assume my interpretation to be objectively true. However, based on experience, I've arrived to this conclusion.
