It is our feelings of unworthiness that deprive us more than anything else. Those of us who have grown up being judged, criticized, ridiculed, ostracized rejected, neglected and abandoned have a very difficult time accepting the fact that we deserve just as much as anyone else, and the main thing we deserve is happiness and freedom to live as our own authentic selves. The problem is that, when children are growing up, they do not have the awareness to ask “What’s wrong with them?” Instead, when children are being abused, bullied, neglected and mistreated, they ask, “What’s wrong with me?” If those self-defacing wounds are not healed, they can become a pervasive sense of unworthiness and a feeling that, no matter where you are, or who you are with, you don’t belong. However, the truth is that the same creator gave life to us all and gave life equally. As human beings, we tend to judge worthiness as being about, intellect, education, talent, prestige, wealth, race, orientation, religion, etc. The human ego never misses a chance to tell us that we are better than “them” because. . . Yet, it also never misses a chance to tell us that we are not as good as them because. . . Ego is all about appearance and it can condemn as easily as it gloats.
