So while I was out in Marrakech, I had space and time to really reflect on what I am doing. I will be dropping these soundbites because I had a lot on my mind.

The conclusion I have come to is authenticity is what matters. That is my starting point and the end goal. I want to be able to look back on my creative journey and be like, “yeah I expressed myself in a real way and was true to myself with what I created”

I am in a very interesting place creatively right now. Take this example, I challenged myself to make a beat, come up with a verse, record it, mix it, make a little video clip just for the heck of it. It is kind of like training. Doing drills and kick ups to stay sharp.

I have a new EP "I Made It Anyway" dropping on May 22nd. I have a new book coming out later on in the year.

My podcast (Karl Nova's OddcastTM) is currently on Episode 33 (check it out on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, audible, amazon, Heart etc etc) | have an album dropping too later on in the year.

Being online is a madness sometimes. I just mind my business, do my thing and just be me. Sometimes I get the weirdest comments and DMs.

One day some random person sent me a DM on TikTok. They were like “what is this your TilTok? It is a bit cringe” and I was like “Huh? That’s not how I see things, you are projecting”

I then found out that “cringe culture” is a whole thing that I didn’t even know about. Nah man, don’t bring that around me! I am not gonna let anyone project their own discomfort, insecurities and internal problems on me just because they can’t handle someone being authentically themselves.

“No Escape (Stranger On Earth)”

Have you ever had someone suddenly out of the blue, believe lies about you and cut you off?

When it starts getting darker earlier and colder, I start getting the blues but I have things I do to manage and deal with it. Rest helps, exercise helps, getting creative definitely helps.

This has been me all day. It feels good when i’m fully immersed. It feels even better when I make something that I like 😊

One thing I have learnt is you can’t assume people know who you are and what you’re about. Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is Karl Nova. I am an artist, poet and award winning author. I even have my own podcast that I produce myself called “Karl Nova’s Oddcast”

I rap, sing, perform my poetry live, produce my own music. I write songs, I write poems, I write books. I’m a storyteller. I bring these things I create to life and create moments live in person. I am independent in the truest sense.

I also give back to the next generation by making myself available to try to be an inspiration and encouragement to young people. I visit primary schools, secondary schools, Colleges and Universities doing performances, interactive talks and creative writing workshops . I have been to some of the biggest literary festivals to get busy there too. I will go anywhere. I have done this all over the UK and internationally around the world. I have been consistently out here seeking to uplift, inform, inspire and encourage.
