I think one of the funnier moments I've had on her...was when she was caught in the act of sending stupid memes on her transdiemnsional phone to a Shunsui muse...by a Nanao.
Nothing quite like Nanao picking up a phone buzzing, thinking it's important Squad Zero business....and then looks at the screen...and it's none pizza left beef.

š” What inspires you to write the muse?Ā Shutara is one of my public muses who's been with me the longest. She was a slow starter 10 years ago...and then circa 2016, she decided she wanted to be more present...and then ramped up to be one of my most vocal. I've found thematic inspiration in things like the life of Empress Jingu, and the mythos of Amaterasu and Kannon that her own symbolism evokes. She is a love letter to the power, style, and strength that the much olderJapanese women in my personal life over the years have commanded, that I've admired greatly. I do not fear growing older, irrelevant or undesirable just because culture says that I should...and I've seen first hand from these amazing women that it's not a universal phenomenon.
As far as getting muse for her...she's very visually triggered, so things like beautiful photo spreads of people that are dynamic (like high fashion, or poignant national geographic type photography) will often make her come forward for me. Sometimes I can bring her forward with scent--she likes warm scents like amber, resins, sandalwood. She likes dark gourmands like anise, almond, whisky, pomegranate. She likes sensual notes like leather or musk. She's easier to write at night for whatever reason. I usually don't wake up with her in my brain wanting to write. I'm usually dragged to my computer mid day when she's woken up and been like...yeah...I wanna write NOW. š© Hardest thing about writing the muse?Ā The lack of canonical information at times. And with what is out there...sometimes it takes a lot of time to research the contexts, and sort through the cultural nuance that permeates her character. Man...having her Bankai released after 10 years was like Christmas.
āØ Whatās a situation youāve always wanted to RP with the muse? I've actually never gotten to write her against a consistent Mayuri, which is honestly rather sad. XD
As far as a plot sort of thing--I've always wanted to write a few AUs that I've never had the chance of--like I'd love to do some apocalyptic AUs.
I'd also love to play around with more pre canon stuff--but yeah--you need muses to be able to write in those times.
And I will always crave interactions with other guards, but they're just not as common.! Like I would love to just write them being giant derps up there stir crazy with the 5 same people to talk to for 100's of years a t a time.

I realize that my brain is an absolutely wild explosion of neurons that ofen sprays unsuspecting mutuals with deranged rants into the void with no warning. But not everyone finds that easy to make sense of or answer with thoughts of their own. It's understandable. :D Sooo given a lot of the new material that's come out about Bleach and the Guard...I'm trying to explain some of the stuff I've settled on for current protrayals. I like my default to be relatively canonical...but there's a lot of debate as to what that means in some corners of fandom, so i figure it's a useful addition to people's knowledge, if they haven't split hairs on the Japanese texts

basically i got thinking abt like. you know when you watch a movie, or read a book, and characters go into a room or they do a particular thing together, and you just KNOW itās building up to something, and it could be literally anything, from a kiss to a murder, but SOMETHING will DEFINITELY happen??? yeah. this is a love-letter to those glorious scenes! i hope you all enjoy!
[Ā ROADĀ TRIPĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā the sender and receiver embark on a road trip together; the purpose could be anything at all, but whatās important is that the journey lasts at least several hours. additionally, the sender and receiver are the only people in the car!
[Ā BAREDĀ SOULSĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā the sender and receiver spontaneously go skinny dipping together in the middle of the night while visiting an isolated lake. go wild! maybe the sender finds the receiver already skinny dipping, maybe itās the other way round, who knows! you do! maybe.
[Ā NIGHT-TIMEĀ STROLLSĀ ]:Ā Ā the sender decides to walk the receiver home from an event late one night. and itās very late; so late that they might as well be the only people left in the world. itās just them and the quiet night sky, and conversations of all kinds are easy to come by.
[Ā TOP OF THE WORLDĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā one of the muses finds the other on the roof-top in the middle of the night. neither of them want to sleep, and so they sit together for the remainder of the night until the sun comes up, content to sit and talk and exist with each other.
[Ā STEPPINGĀ BACKĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā while theyāre both attending a particularly lively and crowded party, both muses, craving a moment of peace and fresh air, accidentally go to the same balcony. unwilling to leave, they sit together, and begin to talk as the party spins on behind their backs.
[Ā NOĀ VACANCIESĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā both characters are in a position where they must share a hotel room together; not so bad, until they realize the only room left has one bed and no sofa in it. paired with a carpet that not even a worst enemy would be subjected to, the two must share the bed.
[Ā WRONGĀ ROOMĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā after a long day, and a hotel with many vacancies, the two muses part ways to go to bed. only, one of them ends up waking in the middle of the night, and shows up at the otherās doorstep, knocking and asking to come in, for reasons unknown to the other muse.
[Ā NIGHT-INGALEĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā after being badly beaten, one muse shows up on the other museās doorstep, pleading for help. the other obliges, brings them in and gently cleans their wounds, bandaging them up, helping them as much as they can while quiet confessions and gentle pleas happen. basically, angst and emotion and hurt and comfort, and itās DELICIOUSā
[Ā VISITINGĀ HOURSĀ ]:Ā Ā Ā upon waking in a hospital bed, one of the muses turns their head, and finds the other sleeping in an uncomfortable chair by their bedside.
Rukia would make note that their similar in that regard as she starts rummages through some boxes.
"Oh, I just wanted to do some sketches. Think a few things out."
The first cabinet she opens is mostly yarn, a few knitting needles, and other things for crochet work. She sighs. She knew it would be there. The second cabinet has a drawer in it that has many different odds and ends, and there's a ballpoint pen and a few pencils, but no markers. The third has several bolts of cloth, a bin full of buttons of every material one could think of, and several books of sewing patterns. But Shutara has always found it easier to talk with someone while engaging in tasks. It lessens the pressure she feels sometimes to know things at all times.
"That makes sense," she says. "I've always been a more visual person. Sometimes talking something out just makes something sound even more ridiculous to me, even if it's logical. Drawing something out can really help."
