So they took the 10 pounds of explosives and their toy truck to a poor Black neighborhood, got reporters there, stuck the explosives inside, and set them off intentionally instead of just defusing them like they did with the other 4,990 pounds of fireworks.

For some reason, likely because something went wrong with their truck which I bet cost the city a shit ton of money, the containment completely failed and the explosion destroyed cars, homes, and injured 17-19 people (I’ve seen different reports with different numbers), a couple of whom were in critical condition but it sounds like everyone survived.

The LAPD then had the audacity to tweet that they didn’t know what caused the explosion when it was them who caused the explosion, intentionally, and we know because they called the media so that everybody could see them do it.

Missing Phoenix Coldon

By all accounts, Phoenix Coldon (23) had a bright future ahead. She was a junior at the University of Missouri-St.Louis, was smart and athletic, a regional fencing champion and had musical talent, she played the piano and was part of her church’s choir. But she disappeared under strange circumstances, and her family has never heard of her again.

It was around 3 pm of December 18, 2011, when Phoenix’s father saw her sitting inside her 1998 black Chevy Blazer, in the driveway of their home in Spanish Lake, Missouri. While it wasn’t uncommon for Phoenix to go to her car to make phone calls, it wasn’t like her to leave the house without telling her parents where she was going. So when she suddenly pulled out of the driveway without a word, they assumed it was a quick run to the store or that she was going to visit a friend nearby. But Phoenix never came back home.

Unbeknownst to the Coldons, about three and a half hours after they last saw their daughter, her Chevy Blazer was found abandoned in an intersection in a dangerous area of East St. Louis, a 25 minute drive from her house. The car was still running, with the keys in the ignition, and the door was open. Even though the car was under Phoenix’s mother Goldia’s name, the family didn’t find out the Blazer had been impounded until January 2 of 2012, when a relative found it in a tow yard in East St. Louis. Two weeks had already been lost in the search for Phoenix. It was one of many missteps that have made this case even harder to swallow.

The police hadn’t done an inventory sheet of what was inside the car when they found it because, according to what they told Goldia Coldon, there was nothing inside. But when she finally went to retrieve it (and had to pay a hefty sum in fees for the time it had spent in the lot), she found Phoenix’s purse, glasses, driver’s license and shoes. There was also a soda cup, lemon slices and some candy, which means it’s possible she went to the store after all.

The Coldons have spent years looking for Phoenix, without any luck. They’ve also become the target of cruel pranks. Shortly after Phoenix disappeared, a woman called her house in the middle of the night pretending to be her. At first Gloria believed it, but now she’s convinced it was someone else. Then, in 2012, a man claimed to have information that Phoenix was being held in Texas. The Coldons spent all their savings and even lost their house in the process of investigating the tip, but it turned out to be just a hoax someone desperate for attention made up.

There are plenty of theories going around as to what could have happened to Phoenix. One of the most prominent ones is that she was abducted to be sold in a sex trafficking ring. Other girls have gone missing from the same St. Louis area Phoenix did.
