Welcome to Lake Amell

Amber, 

It's been two years since we met. We came into each other's lives with spilled coffee on chucks, and now, I have to say goodbye. I hope as you read this you know my heart breaks. Tears fall. It's hard for me to do this. For me to leave you like this. I knew I couldn't face you to say goodbye. That would convince me to stay. That would be the one thing I cannot let myself do. Over these past two years, you have been the one person who never left my side. It scares me to know that you were the one who kept me going at times when I wanted nothing more than to fall down and quit. For that, I will never be able to thank you. I don't think I could ever thank you. I just want you to know after all we have been through, I knew you would never leave me alone. That's why I have to finally say the things I've been wanting to for so long. 

You and I needed each other for so long. I needed you when my marriage fell apart, when Katie left me, hell, basically every step of the way I've needed you. I've needed my Kyle. I've needed you on those comic book Wednesdays, on those days where I couldn't get out of bed, and on those days where I was too drunk to make it home. I also needed you the most the one time I almost lost you. The time I betrayed you. The time I thought I was doing a good thing. I hope you still know I never wanted to hurt you. I never knew I was able to  hurt as bad as I did. I felt myself lose all the strength I had. I felt those walls I kept up come crumbling down. YOU were able to make me get back up off my knees and live. You helped me become the man I am today. For that, I am forever thankful. 

As we grew, we became stronger. We became the people we needed to be. I am so happy I got to be apart of that with you. To be there and watch you become the woman I always knew you were. A strong loving Wonder Woman. You brought me back from the brink, and I am so happy I helped bring you back. All I ever want/wanted for you is to be this woman. To be the woman I always knew was there. The woman who saved me from my car that day. You have become more than I could have ever hoped. You are my best friend, and I will never be able to replace you. I just want you to finally be open and happy. I know that day is coming for you. I know that day is coming. I just know it.

 I wanted you to know that I finally realized that everything I have ever done has led me and us here. All of those nights spent playing Halo, COD, and eating ice cream led us here. They led us to this very moment. I know now you have become the woman I always hoped to see one day. You have finally become the woman I wanted to see. That's why I know I have to leave you now. I have to leave you because I know you don't need me anymore. I'm also leaving because I know my happiness isn't meant to be found here in Silver Lake. I know yours is though. I know what will make you the happiest is right here in this town. I hope you know I will never forget you or our times together. I have to go and be able to finally be able to be happy. It does bring me an extreme happiness knowing that you are finally happy. You are finally happy. I want you to know you don't need me as much as you think. You've become the person I knew I could leave and know they would be okay. I have seen you at your weakest days and I have seen you at your strongest. I will always love you Amber Heard. You will always be my best friend.

 I know that you are going to be sad reading this next line, and trust me, I am crying as I finish these last few sentences. It's time for me to say Goodbye. It's time for me to go and I know you will be okay. Please don't feel like I'm abandoning you. I'm not. I'm leaving you because you don't need me anymore. You can handle yourself, and I know with me leaving you will be okay. It's time. Just know I will always love you and call you my best friend.
