Can youtell that I enjoyed this way too much
The sunset sure was beautiful.Albeit an overdone statement, it was true. You however, preferred the stars.Taking another sip of your drink, you stared at the sun as it sunk further intothe horizon. You came to the café every Friday. It became a bit of a routinefor you after a while. Sometimes you came with work you had to do, andsometimes you came empty handed.
You enjoyed the peaceful feelingyou received. Everything was quiet except for the birds chirping, the treesrustling, the wind blowing, the-
The young man standing in front ofyou? You snapped out of your stupor and realized someone had approached you. Aman with a feminine face, pink eyes, and orange hair under a red hood with catears. He certainly stood out among the rest of the people around you. “Is thisseat taken?” he asked in a cheerful tone. You shook your head and looked aroundyou. All of the seats around you were empty, since the other people decided tosit inside. The man smiled and took a seat beside you.
He didn’thave anything to eat or drink, you noticed. Maybe he was waiting for his order. But if that was the case, it would’ve been smarter to stay inside. Was he dumb?Or perhaps he just wanted to look at the stars like you did. Or perhaps-
“So I noticed that you come here a lot.”
You werepulled out of your daze once again. He’s noticed you before? “Yeah, I try tocome here every Friday,” you said, fiddling with your now empty glass.
“That makes sense,” he nodded. You looked up. “What do youmean?” you asked. His smile seemed to widen. He had a beautiful smile. Combinedwith his youthful face, it was a nice thing to look at. He stood up, took yourglass, and walked away. You stared at his back. “What was that about? He didn’t even answer my question,” youthought to yourself.
Many questions plagued your brain, until you saw himapproaching you. He sat beside you, setting a refilled glass in front of you,as well as his own drink. “Th-thank you,” you said, a bit surprised.
“No problem,” he said, taking a sip of his own drink. You played with your straw. What did this manwant? What reason did he have for being so nice? He looked up from his drinkand took a glance at you. You were too caught up in your thoughts to notice. Hesmiled at you. “You look cute when you’re thinking so intently,” he said. Youfelt your face heat up at the comment. “You shouldn’t say that to strangers,”you muttered, embarrassed. He grinned, and leaned towards you.
“That’s true,” he said, his tone surprising you, “But what ifI want to be more than strangers.” The feeling of his breath on your ear causedyou to flinch away. He leaned back, his face returning to his normal, cheerfulsmile. “Oh, it’s getting late,” he said, looking up at the clock hanging aboveyour heads. He stood up and grabbed his drink. “Be careful, there are some realcreeps out here!” He said, walking away.
And there you were, flustered, embarrassed… and intrigued. You hadn’t even gotten this man’s name, yet you wanted to know more about him.You hoped to see him again.
And if you didn’t know any better…. You would’ve thought thathe wanted that.
