Imperfect Perfection

It was a privilege to love you, and it was a privilege to let you go. Both helped shape me into the person I have become.

How is it that the scars you thought had healed partially bust open in silent spontaneity? Regardless of how many weeks you can go without them crossing your mind, you will encounter moments where you will settle down on an ordinary Monday night with a comical movie where the protagonist will make a reference that reminds you of an inside joke you once shared and alas- you are swept up in a familiar tornado. On the one hand, you can distinctively understand how their decisions are not the slightest bit reflective of your self worth but alas- you still find yourself pondering what else you could have done to make them love you enough to fight harder; what a god damn cruel battle to find yourself in.

Being with the wrong person is lonelier than being on your own. Or it’s as lonely, in a different way

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”

Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.
