Tw: mentions of being overworked but like overall just fluff, cursing (itâs katsuki whatâd youâd expect)
Part 2 of exhaustion where I finish when I finally am not exhausted anymore and get time off đ honestly imagining a day off with katsuki and his cuddles is everything one could hope for
Katsuki sighed, staring at the time displayed on his phone screen. He knew you wouldnât listen to him, opting to stay late and finish the work you would have done the days he was making you take off. He wouldnât push it, knowing youâll keep up your end of the bargain and at the very least take off the rest of your week to stay home and rest.
He wouldnât tell you he was doing the same, knowing youâd just insist you were being a burden and he shouldnât take time off just for you. But he wanted to, he missed seeing you and being able yo wake up with you in his arms. The last few weeks have been hell for the both of you, work becoming the start and end to your days. It left little to no time for you two to spend with one another. Thankfully, Kirishima had offered to cover for him. He could see how frustrated his schedule was making him.
He opted to start dinner instead of going to collect you, giving you the time you needed to be at peace on your much needed weekend.
You slumped through your door, body sore and aching from pushing it past itâs limits. You hadnât anticipated staying as late as you did, you had hoped for once youâd get out on time. Empty hope, that much you knew, but it was hope nonetheless. If it wasnât for the soft humming you heard coming from your kitchen, you would have nearly forgotten Bakugouâs presence completely. You smiles softly, slipping your jacket off and throwing it on a nearby surface (you didnât exactly care), before making your way to the kitchen. You gently slipped your arms around his waist, resting half your body weight against his back. You could hear the smile in his voice as he greeted you, finishing up the last of your dinner.
âGod, I love when you come over. The place always smells so good.â You hummed, the pleasant smell mixed with the warmth he radiated nearly lulling you to sleep.
âYeah, yeah. Why donât you go get changed into something comfortable before you pass out on my back, yeah?â You only hummed in response, forcing your tired limbs to carry you to your bedroom. He chuckled softly to himself as he watched you tiredly slink to the room before finishing up and plating the food.
When you came out the table had been set, Katsuki walking back from your kitchen with a couple drinks in hand before pulling out your seat for you. You smiled, quickly taking your seat and giggling to yourself as the soft tint of pink that shadowed his cheeks.
He wasnât use to being this gentle or kind, that much you knew. It was rare and so unusual to see Iâm be a âproperâ gentleman, as Mina loved to put it. He was much more rough, brash at times and sometimes he felt he wasnât the right fit for you with his much your gentle personality contrasted his. He wasnât vocal in the ways he showed his affection and love for you, which lead many to believe that he didnât actually give a damn. At least, not if they didnât know him. But what he lacked in vocal love he made up for tenfold in actions, especially in this very moment.
Heâd made your favorite dish, gotten out some of your favorite pairs of pajamas and one of his hoodies your sure he brought from his home. Hell, he even lit a few of your favorite candles to make the house smell much more homey and feel much more comfortable. You couldnât help but stare with a giant smile plastered so perfectly on your lips. He noticed, lightly flicking your forehead and throwing you back to reality.
âThe hell you starinâ at? Hurry up and eat before your food gets cold.â You pouted, feigning offense.
âWhat? I canât stare at my hothead of a boyfriend?â You teased, trying to his your smirk at the glare he shot you.
âYouâre lucky I like your dumbass or Iâd just leave with the ice cream I brought.â You rolled your eyes, your smile still ever so present as you two sat in the comfort of each otherâs company. He listened to you ramble about your week, piping in with his usual comments every so often or rolling his eyes at the absolute bull you have to go through on a day to day bases for a job he often stated didnât deserve you or your talents.
As the night grew on, sleep slowly crept back into your body as you yawned for what felt like the upteenth time tonight. Katsuki had kept quiet, letting you unwind in anyway you saw fit; from watching any random video you could find on YouTube to just sitting at your dining room table as you rambled on about all the things you had wanted to tell him, but were too busy to get time for. But after the millionth yawn of the night, he decided to get you to sleep, even if you wouldnât realize it. So he proposed you two settle down for a movie, a choice he only half regretted when you picked one of his least favorite films. You giggled as he rolled his eyes, going to fetch you two a blanket as you got it ready.
It didnât take very long into the movie, cuddled against Katsukiâs chest as you both laid comfortably on your sofa, for you to fall right to sleep. You snuggled you face further into the crook of his neck, the softness of your breathing making him smile to himself. He let the movie play in the background, his attempts never once drifting from you all night. He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead as he let himself drift off to sleep, his arms securely wrapped around you.
God, you had him worried the last few weeks with how much youâd been working. He could hardly get ahold of you, hardly saw you. If it wasnât for the few texts youâd send sporadically to assure him you were safe, he would have thought the worst had happened. Today was the last straw for him, no reply to his call or texts left ignored. He knew you were safe, probably on your way to work and busy, but god if his heart didnât feel like it was going to explode as his panic set in. What ifâs ran through his mind as he stormed to your place of work, only to find you hadnât made it to work yet. He was ready to explode and scold you the moment he found you about his, but seeing the bags under your eyes and the exhaustion just plastered head to toe on your tired and aching body, it blew away his rage and replaced it with nothing but worry and need. A need to take you home and hold you close in bed, taking care of you the way youâd neglected to for days. Run a bath, make your favorite meal, and lay in bed with you in his arms to get the rest you so desperately needed. And he got what he wanted in the end, even if it didnât go as he originally wanted.
He got the one thing he wanted most, you in his arms; safe, relaxed, and resting. Resting for what he could only assume was the first time in days. He hummed softly to himself with a faint smile on his face as he too drifted off to sleep. The next couple days would be nothing but this, you in his arms doing nothing but keep the other company. And he woundnât want your days off together to be spent any other way.
