vada  knows  she’s  being  unnecessarily  rude,  but  it’s  not  her  fault  bellamy  couldn’t  read  the  fucking  room.  "  oh,  i  fucking  will!  "  she  shouts  through  the  closed  door,  snickering  to  herself  before  turning  back  to  dakota.  finally.  "  i  think  he’s  gone,  "  she  murmurs,  hand  coming  up  to  cradle  the  back  of  dakota's  neck  as  she  leans  in  to  kiss  her.  when  she  pulls  away,  her  eyes  stay  on  dakota,  a  victorious  grin  spreading  across  her  face.  "  next  time,  we’re  doing  this  at  my  place.  my  roommate  would  never  pull  that  kind  of  shit  when  i  have  someone  over.  "  @ilovethismood

“WELL,  WELL,  WELL,  if  it  isn't  my  favorite  woman  !”  the  type  of  compliments  that  only  come  out  of  brett  when  he  needs  something.  he  snaps  his  fingers  before  pointing  in  her  direction.  “got  a  light  ?”

oh,  to  be  called  brett  nasr’s  favorite  woman  right  in  the  middle  of  electric  avenue  like  this  .  .  .  what  a  fucking  honor.  "  get  in  line,  brett.  you’re  not  the  only  one  who’s  obsessed  with  me,  "  she  shoots  back,  a  grin  tugging  at  the  corners  of  her  mouth.  of  course  vada  has  a  lighter.  she  always  does.  but  where’s  the  fun  in  just  handing  it  over  and  making  things  easy  for  him?  "  it’s  in  my  back  pocket.  help  yourself.  "

laying  on  a  blanket  in  the  park,  shreya  tosses  her  notebook  aside  and  props  herself  up  on  her  elbows  to  look  at  vada,  "divorce  is  chic,  right?"  it's  something  she's  been  thinking  about  since  her  return  to  town,  now  as  a  young,  beautiful  divorced  woman.  and  vada  seems  like  the  right  person  to  talk  to  about  this.  despite  shreya's  flee  from  the  town,  her  bond  with  vada  has  fallen  right  back  into  place  seamlessly,  “i  mean,  it  doesn't  make  me  less  hot  or  anything.  maybe  it  makes  me  sexier  kinda.”  not  that  she's  looking  to  date  anyone  right  now,  but  when  she  does,  she  needs  to  know  how  to  highlight  her  strengths. 

in  all  honesty,  vada  is  probably  the  last  person  who  should  be  talking  about  divorce.  not  that  she  has  much  to  say  about  it.  hyping  shreya  up  and  reminding  her  that  being  divorced  doesn’t  make  her  any  less  hot?  that  she  can  do.  "  are  you  fucking  kidding  me?  "  she  says,  matter-of-factly,  disbelief  flashing  across  her  features.  "  you’re  a  free  woman  now,  babe.  that’s  the  hottest  you  can  be.  not  that  being  married  ever  made  you  any  less  free  or  any  less  hot.  you  were  absolutely  hot  as  a  wife,  "  she  almost  wants  to  add  that  nico’s  a  lucky  man  before  remembering  he’s  very  much  not  her  husband  anymore.  what  a  shame,  really.  "  and  you’re  absolutely  hot  right  now.  i  think  you’re  fucking  glowing.  "  maybe  that’s  a  little  over  the  top,  but  vada  has  never  been  one  to  hold  back  when  it  comes  to  gassing  someone  up,  especially  her  friends.  she  shifts  onto  her  elbows,  mirroring  shreya’s  position  as  she  leans  closer  with  a  smirk,  voice  lowering  like  she’s  about  to  ask  something  scandalous.  "  are  you  seeing  someone?  have  you  been  trying  to  get  laid?  "

with  esme,  june  knows  better  than  to  take  her  words  at  face  value.  most  of  it  is  just  sarcasm,  a  part  of  esme’s  personality  that  she’s  grown  so  used  to  that  she  knows  there’s  rarely  any  real  bite  behind  it.  so,  when  the  bowl  of  popcorn  lands  in  her  lap,  all  she  does  is  smile.  "  thank  you  for  putting  up  with  all  that  for  me,  "  she  says,  chuckling  softly.  "  you’re  literally  the  bestest  best  friend  ever,  essie.  i  love  you  too!  "  a  thoughtful  hum  follows  as  she  looks  through  their  options,  trying  to  decide  what  to  put  on.  god,  there  are  way  too  many  good  movies  to  choose  from.  "  13  going  on  30?  i  know  i’ve  seen  it  a  thousand  times  already,  but  it  never  gets  old.  "  then,  another  thought  crosses  her  mind  and  she  quickly  turns  toward  esme,  eyes  sparkling  with  excitement.  "  or  jennifer’s  body?  oh  my  god,  did  you  hear  they’re  making  a  sequel?  "  a  small  laugh  escapes  her,  already  getting  carried  away.  "  i  mean,  i  don’t  know  if  we  need  one,  even  if  it's  a  great  movie.  sometimes  it's  better  to  just  leave  a  classic  as  it  is,  you  know?  the  ending  already  felt  pretty  much  complete,  and  i  honestly  don’t  even  know  where  they’d  go  from  there.  but  megan  fox  is  returning,  which  means  jennifer  is  returning.  or,  well,  maybe  some  version  of  jennifer.  someone  who  looks  like  jennifer?  who  knows,  maybe  jennifer  isn’t  actually  dead  .  .  .  either  way,  i’m  kind  of  excited.  "  she  pauses,  grinning  at  esme.  "  should  we  watch  that?  "  

of  course,  no  age  is  too  old  for  a  first  tattoo.  she  mentally  curses  herself  for  asking  such  a  stupid  question,  but  appreciates  that  the  guy  behind  the  counter  doesn’t  even  bat  an  eye  or  laugh  at  her.  a  nod  follows,  then  a  small  shake  of  her  head.  "  i  don’t  know  what  i’m  gonna  get,  "  she  admits  quietly,  her  gaze  drifting  for  a  moment.  "  i  probably  should’ve  thought  this  through,  right?  not  just  get  a  tattoo  because  i  feel  like  getting  one?  "  at  this  point,  june  is  half  expecting  him  to  tell  her  she’s  right,  but  curiosity  gets  the  better  of  her  and  before  she  can  stop  herself,  more  questions  start  spilling  out.  "  how  do  people  even  figure  out  what  they  want  to  get  and  where  they  want  to  put  it?  like,  what  if  it  doesn’t  turn  out  the  way  you  imagined?  can  you  get  it  removed  right  away  or  do  you  just  have  to  live  with  it  forever?  "  she  pauses  to  catch  her  breath,  brows  knitting  together.  "  there’s  just  .  .  .  so  much  to  think  about.  it’s  kind  of  overwhelming,  honestly.  "

maybe  under  different  circumstances,  she  would’ve  appreciated  the  kindness  behind  grace’s  gesture.  but  her  head  isn’t  in  the  right  place  right  now,  and  she  knows  a  latex  dress  isn’t  going  to  change  that.  besides,  they  don’t  really  look  all  that  comfortable.  "  no,  you  don’t  have  to.  it’s  not  usually  my  style  anyway.  "  her  gaze  drops  to  her  hands,  fingers  quietly  fidgeting  together  in  her  lap.  but  you  should  be.  prepared,  i  mean.  at  some  point.  the  words  linger,  repeating  themselves  in  her  mind.  she  knows  grace  is  right,  but  it’s  easier  said  than  done.  truthfully,  she  doesn’t  think  she’s  ever  fully  moved  on  from  her  past  relationships,  no  matter  how  long  or  short  they  lasted.  after  a  moment,  she  looks  back  up  at  grace,  a  faint  smile  pulling  at  the  corners  of  her  mouth.  june  doesn’t  believe  she  could  get  just  about  anyone,  but  grace’s  confidence  in  her  is  enough  to  make  her  laugh.  "  too  bad  the  one  i  want  doesn’t  want  me  back,  "  she  trails  off,  a  heavy  sigh  following  her  words.  then,  another  person  comes  to  mind.  "  and  there’s  this  other  ex  of  mine  too.  she—  i’m  not  saying  i  want  her  back.  no,  i  know  getting  back  with  an  ex  isn’t  a  good  idea,  even  if  it  was  probably  the  best  relationship  i’ve  ever  had.  it’s  just  that  seeing  her  around  town  makes  it  hard  not  to  .  .  .  feel.  "

one  of  the  things  she  likes  about  jason  is  that  he  never  forgets  to  ask  about  her  photos.  with  an  easy  nod,  june  reaches  for  her  camera,  powers  it  on,  and  scrolls  through  the  gallery.  "  got  a  few  pretty  good  shots  at  penny  park  a  couple  days  ago,  "  she  says,  handing  the  camera  over  to  jason.  as  she  listens,  her  head  tilts  slightly,  brows  knitting  together.  "  more  things  seem  to  be  breaking?  like  what?  "  the  question  is  genuine,  though  a  quiet  chuckle  escapes  her  at  his  joke.  she  gives  his  arm  a  light  nudge.  "  i’m  just  kidding,  jay.  i  know  you’re  a  good  guy.  "

maybe  she  needs  to  pick  up  a  job  herself.  june  definitely  has  way  too  much  time  on  her  hands,  and  she  can  always  go  back  to  photography  once  she  lands  a  gig.  "  yeah,  i  missed  being  busy.  i  haven’t  really  had  much  to  do  lately.  "  it’s  true.  even  if  her  last  job  eventually  became  too  much  with  how  fast-paced  it  was,  she  still  misses  having  somewhere  to  be  and  something  to  focus  on.  "  that’s  actually  pretty  cool.  i’m  glad  you  can  say  no,  "  she  says,  a  small  smile  tugging  at  her  lips.  "  i  might  have  to  come  by  more  often  then.  see  if  i  can  catch  you  on  one  of  your  emergency  bartending  shifts.  "  a  quiet  chuckle  follows,  and  she  tilts  her  head  playfully  at  billie.  "  so  .  .  .  aren’t  you  gonna  take  my  order?  "

shakes  her  head  to  ward  off  june's  thanks.   ❛  no  need  to  thank  me,  you  know  you're  welcome  any  time.  ❜   the  copious  amounts  of  freshly  washed  linen  forever  prepared  in  the  upstairs  closet  could  attest  to  that.   ❛  do  you  want  to  talk  about  it?  ❜   words  presented  in  a  way  that  showed  no  bias  in  either  direction.   ❛  have  you  eaten?  ❜   of  course,  the  second  most  important  question  she  could  ask  june  at  the  moment.  heartbreak  was  something  cori  knew  well,  and  it  certainly  didn't  leave  you  feeling  very  hungry.

even  though  she  knows  corinne  is  always  happy  to  have  her  over,  june  still  makes  a  habit  of  thanking  her  every  now  and  then.  she's  always  been  the  kind  of  person  who  shows  her  appreciation  through  both  words  and  actions.  at  corinne’s  question,  her  lips  form  a  small  pout.  "  i’m  actually  a  little  hungry.  "  the  breakup  has  certainly  taken  away  her  appetite,  but  now  that  she’s  feeling  a  little  better,  she  figures  she  should  probably  try  to  eat  something.  "  have  you  eaten?  should  we  order  takeout?  "  she  offers  another  smile.  "  we  can  talk  about  it  while  we  wait.  "

despite  his  bad  boy  reputation,  june  likes  to  think  there’s  more  to  mikhail  de  bastiani  than  meets  the  eye.  she’s  always  been  a  little  naïve  that  way,  but  he’s  never  given  her  much  reason  to  think  otherwise.  "  maybe  you  should  open  one,  "  she  suggests,  her  lips  curling  into  a  smile  as  she  takes  a  sip  of  her  iced  matcha  latte.  "  i  think  it’d  be  a  hit  around  here.  have  you  ever  considered  doing  something  like  that?  you  know,  besides  acting.  "  after  all,  it's  fairly  common  for  actors  to  branch  out  into  business.

she's loves all seasons, but summer has always been her favourite. the fact that it's july and the sun is hidden by overcast has a slight frown forming. it's replaced by a smile a second later, however, when she directs her attention towards june. " i was hoping to get out for a swim today, but the weather isn't looking too great. i'm trying to decide if i should just risk it anyway. "

by  nature,  june  is  more  likely  to  talk  someone  out  of  doing  something  reckless  than  encourage  them  to  do  it.  she  looks  up  at  the  cloudy  sky,  then  back  at  lilah,  a  reluctant  smile  forming  on  her  lips.  "  maybe  not?  it’s  probably  better  to  be  safe  than  sorry.  "  still,  she  can't  help  but  feel  a  little  bad.  could  only  hope  she's  not  letting  lilah  down  by  playing  it  safe.  "  we  could  still  sit  by  the  water  if  you  want.  maybe  get  something  warm  afterward?  "  she  offers  instead.

while  the  breakup  has  been  harder  on  june  than  she’d  like  to  admit,  she’s  thankful  to  have  friends  who  are  there  to  support  her  through  it.  she  still  doesn’t  know  how  christian  managed  to  tell  from  her  texts  alone,  but  then  again,  she’s  never  been  very  good  at  hiding  what  she’s  feeling.  he  was  going  to  find  out  sooner  or  later  anyway.  their  conversations  over  text  have  helped  take  her  mind  off  things,  but  she’s  happy  they  finally  get  to  hang  out  again.  at  his  offer,  she  glances  over  at  him,  a  small  smile  tugging  at  her  lips.  "  really?  i’ll  have  a  strawberry  shortcake  then.  "  one  of  her  favorites  from  the  local  bakery,  and  she’d  already  decided  before  he  even  asked.  "  what  are  you  having?  can  i  get  an  iced  matcha  latte  too?  "
