imagine if steve rogers was brought back in 2019. this man lived through the great depression, then world war ii, thinks he died, but comes back to life in the future. he'd assume everything is better, right? technology, communications, quality of life---all upgraded. maybe the world figured itself out, he thinks. maybe the only threat left is ourselves. and then coronavirus happens

the avengers canonically play video games together (in avengers assemble) so im totally imagining them deciding to bond over just dance. tony, natasha, clint, and thor going all out and having a ton of fun. bruce usually opts out to "not upset the big guy" (hes embarrassed) and helps choose songs or versions of the game and decides a winner of each song based on effort and favoritism. steve complains that he hasn't ever danced, especially not like this, and hes always losing. they all make sure he plays the hardest/freakiest songs so he's caught off guard and they can laugh about it. loki dominates when he visits. sam calls everyone's song choices horrible but refuses to stop playing. bucky starts living at the tower and tries to not join, then gets the same treatment as steve, but as he starts feeling more and more like himself, he goes nuts and has a ton of fun with it with clint and nat and sam. wanda does better at the slower, more lyrical songs. pietro (who is alive and well) somehow gets superstar at the highest difficulty songs but is buns at easy ones. peter makes it his mission to make sure they get five stars on every song in the game. when a multi-person song calls for lifting someone or linking arms, you best bet they do it with maximum enthusiasm. people are adding hip choreo that isn't even there. they're dancing and singing in the back when they don't have a remote. wanda, pietro, and peter do trios together all the time, everyone does duets with their partners/best friends, and steve, nat, sam, and bucky always fit in a quartet. sometimes they mix it with spin the bottle for who's getting a controller and sometimes they make whoever loses take a drink (if it's legal, but the teens hardly lose anyway). it is their favorite night of the week, no matter what they say during it.
