they weren’t blipped out ! and they were fortunate enough to not have anyone important to them blipped out . however , those five years that have passed did feel a little chaotic . jubilee organized a safe house of sorts for all the remaining mutants who didn’t get blipped out .
002. where are they living ? are they living with anyone ?
jubes is currently living at sword hq ! although , they’re more than willing to move out and live in the city if they found a couple roommates .
003. why is your character affiliated with who they’re affiliated with ?
at the moment , jubilee feels like the most they can do at the moment is join sword . it’s not ideal but it is what it is . their affiliation primarily lies within the x-men and its associated groups .
004. who are their major friends, allies, and foes ?
major friends : the x-men , generation x , excalibur
allies : s.w.o.r.d. , the avengers , young avengers
foes : enemies of the above groups

the people who want to do right by mutants and non-mutants alike . jubilee has been scarred by the government way too much to put their trust in their hands and they believe superheroes have an inherently biased view .

physically , jubilee is healthy . mentally , they’re going through it just a little bit . they’ve recently been cured of their vampirism and regained their powers . so it’s safe to say it’s A LOT to come to terms with .

“Well, I’ll just have to start taking advantage of them every chance I get,” Gar did find the idea of leeching off the city’s superhero corporations rather funny, but it’s purely a joke to suggest. Frankly, he was most inclined toward self reliance than people assumed of him - no one wants agents breathing down their neck just for living in a city they didn’t even choose to come to, “Well, I don’t live there. I dunno how y’all don’t go stir-crazy with the other tenants. Maybe it’s because you’re too busy using the cryotherapy and free food.”
“ SHIT , I KINDA FORGOT about that , ” they lightly grimace for a moment before moving on . “ i grew up at a ‘ boarding school ’ for mutants so living at sword’s dorms really isn’t all that bad . and it DEFINITELY beats the crazy rent in this city . i’ve got a pretty decent place and greta’s a pretty great roommate . ” and to them , the positives outweigh the negatives . “ i mean , the free food helps . and cryotherapy is nice . if they really try to stop us , i can just say you’re my guest and they’ll probably let us through ? if not ... i’m willing to just use my fireworks as a distraction . ”

she had noticed that some of the students had made their way into new ventures, it was hard to imagine that they would want to leave a place that clearly loved them. for a while it was like the only safe space to be during the blip, then again, the blip had felt like it’s own little snowglobe in a way for raven. as someone who never grew up with a loving family and watching on the outside while being in it was odd to her. now that everyone was back she knew that her time had come to an end, and she had much more pressing things to try and accomplish now and unfortunately being at sword was one of them. “did you feel held back at xaviers?” she questions them, looking at their palm for a moment before leaning against the wall. “it looks like we both needed to get away from something.” she says, her smile is more of a smirk.
WHILE THOSE FIVE YEARS were both tragic and hectic , jubilee took it as a sign to start fresh . they spent that time doing other things . creating a safe space for mutants like themselves who had survived the blip . exploring other options . sword was one of them . and it wasn’t all that bad . the older mutant’s question was unexpected . however , they’re also aware of how raven can be . “ would you believe me if i said no ? ” they ask . “ change is all part of growing up and i can’t exactly be CONFINED to the walls of xavier’s . i just needed a little more independence . and do i honestly look like a teacher ? ”
she offers a smile at their words “ oh jubilee, i could never force you to be where you don’t want to be at. ” she had had moments herself that she had to stay away from xavier’s so it wouldn’t be fair of her to demand otherwise of the other if space is what they needed “ all i have to say is that i miss you in there and we will be waiting for the day you come back with open arms. where have you been staying?”
THE MUTANT IS COMFORTED by the elder’s words . “ i appreciate it . ” they could always count on jean to be understanding . “ i’ve been with sword , actually . it’s not that much different than xavier’s . maybe slightly more freedom ? and meeting new people . ” no hate , but they grew up at the mansion so leaving just felt like another step in the right direction . they can’t always rely on xavier’s to be that safety net .
Kitty liked Jubilee - if not in part because they actually wanted to discuss Star Wars with her, then because they were cool (probably because they talked about Star Wars; it was a real catch-22).“Empire is kinda the best Star Wars movie; like, period. End of sentence. Men will just argue anything ‘cause they don’t wanna agree with someone who’s not a man, huh?” Kitty shrugged, sipping her iced coffee. “Honestly when a man talks to me, I just stop paying attention. If you just smile and nod, they think you’re listening when in reality you’re thinking about how sexy jar jar binks is.” Kitty pauses. “You ever do that?”
JUBILEE ALWAYS FOUND KITTY to be the one person they can go to about all things pop-culture . maybe it’s because they always seem to be on the same wavelength . but they cherish it either way ! “ he was like ‘ oh well i don’t wanna ruin it for you with my explanation ’ –– pfft please . and he never said his reasoning , ” jubilee rolls their eyes . “ you’re so right though . i think we as a society should just stop listening to men . it’d be nice . peaceful , ” they laugh . “ thinking about jar jar binks hits different . he’s doing his best . ”
relaxation: what does my muse do to relax ? do they find it easy to carve out time to relax ?
jubilee has two things they opt for to relax : yoga or exploring new restaurants ( as well as boba shops , cafes , bars and generally anything within that realm ) . while training at sword does take up a good chunk of their time , they’re still able to make it work and carve out time to relax . and since they’re no longer at x-mansion , it’s far easier for them to leave sword’s dorms to walk around the city and try out new food spots .

THE MUTANT IS PRACTICALLY starstruck at the presence of the one and only luna snow . but jubilee recovers quickly and matches the other’s energy . “ yeah ! ” they grin . “ sorry it took me so long ! the crowds were just –– ” grimaces and shakes their head . lets the other drag them away from the crowd . “ boba ? yeah , i’m totally down ! holy shit sorry , i’m like having a moment right now , ” they laugh . “ what are the chances that i’d run into luna snow ? ”
“can i get–” she starts off saying, her voice drowned out by the outside noises that is new york city. “can i just–” she says again, sighing, she waits for the two people to stop talking, its crowded in this bakery and laura had just gotten back from another one of her little trips out of state, her temper is a short fuse because she’s hungry. it doesn’t take long for her claws to come out, she hears a gasp and she uses it to stab her two donuts holding them above her head before she’s walking out the door back onto the busy street. she plucks one of the donuts off her claw and sticks it in her mouth, her eyes looking up at the person. “i’m hungry, fuck off.”
THEY CAN’T HELP BUT chuckle lightly at the sight of laura with two donuts stabbed through their claws . brows raise up in amusement as jubilee nears the other mutant . “ well that’s one way to greet a friend , ” they’ll jest , moving to stand next to her . “ especially when it’s the first time i’ve seen you in a while , ” they playfully nudge her shoulder . “ i guess one of those donuts aren’t for me ? ”
