🍋💛 I ran out of my personal supply of sacha inchi foot balm w lemon and tea tree oil again, so I made some more! 18 jars have just been listed 😊😊😊 Original post: "Do you by chance remember a limited edition foot balm I created using an ingredient I procured while developing the petal, leaf, root. by Just the Goods range for dry skin? Well, I recently finished the amount I'd reserved for personal use and realized it was the single most effective thing I've ever tried to control the dyshidrotic eczema I'm prone to getting from a combination of factors including stress and wearing medical-grade gloves to protect my hands from excess exposure to undiluted essential oils, etc. It has also been helpful managing contact dermatitis caused by frequent use of alcohol- and petroleum-based hand sanitizer. So, I bought some more sacha inchi oil and made another batch for myself + extra to share with all of you! If you don't already know @moniqueRMT please let me take a moment to tell you how awesome they are! I was introduced to Monique Laplante via @anastasiachips many years ago and, shortly thereafter, Monique became one of Just the Goods' very first wholesale clients. Sometimes there’s enough product at the end of a batch to fill a few orders the following week or two (i.e. body butter, or face masks) but overall approx 160 Just the Goods and petal, leaf, root. by Just the Goods products are made according to your selections at justthegoods.net 😊 There are a reasons for this. First, JTG products are made without artificial preservatives so, like fresh food, they are best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Some formulas can last as long as a year when stored correctly (i.e. the body butter and face masks mentioned above), but I still make a point of creating in small batches because I want you to receive the freshest items possible, not things that have been sitting on a warehouse shelf in anticipation of shipping by a fulfillment center. JTG’s amazing retailers likewise facilitate fresh products for you when you shop in-store by restocking often to ensure a recent selection of items on their shelves. Next, making products to order is part of how JTG can offer such affordable public wholesale pricing --- raw materials are allocated based on formula demand, so there’s no need to inflate product prices only to discount older items when they’re approaching expiry. There's a lot going on right now and, being completely honest, it has leveled up my baseline anxiety. Two years of panini and all the exhaustion it entails for immunocompromised folks. Relentless RCMP raids of unceeded/sovgreign Indigenous territory, while even more children killed in "residential schools" are being found. Full-blown demonstrations of yt supremacy in a city where friends feel like they're under seige while police won't even write up traffic violations. Overwhelm and exhaustion are distracting my mind and hurting my heart, so I've been pretty silent on social media, mostly because it feels inapporpriate to talk about anything other than what's going on, also because I don't have the spoons to articulate anything insightful. After sharing an excerpt from email last week, I recieved a number of DMs from folks wanting to read the text mentioned, so I thought I'd post it here 😊 "Why doesn't Just the Goods make anti-aging products?" Is something I wrote over 10 years ago when I was just starting JTG and was surprised how frequently I was asked this very question. It goes a lil' something like this 😉 ... "All living things age with the passage of time. This is a perfectly natural process, and ideally something to be embraced as part of a life well lived. Any suggestion that we can or should fight the aging process, including what are described as “premature signs of aging”, is nothing more than a marketing scam used by the beauty industry to prey on low self-esteem cultivated by the non-stop presentation of young, photo edited and/or surgically altered bodies in advertising and entertainment. Some say looking good helps us feel better, but I’m inclined to prioritize efforts to feel good because that reminds us to take care of ourselves. Audre Lorde was a Caribbean-American writer and civil rights activist who famously said (among other great things) that “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” Maybe not all of us would consider ourselves engaged in political warfare, but daily life can be really tough, and it isn’t easy to justify the time required to slow down and recharge. However, when we take care of ourselves as best as we can, we can begin to appreciate the many different ways our bodies help us radiate confidence in our ideas, abilities, skills, and wisdom… all of which contributes to a healthy love for ourselves and those around us." Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you're doing great, and keeping cozy! I was definitely quiet here on IG over the holidays ... decompressing from the past few months and enjoying mornings without an alarm clock. Small pleasures, aaaaaaaah! 💕 But, as to be expected, I was still busy behind the scenes... most notably setting up a @zendesk Chatbot and ticketing system! If you've visited justthegoods.net in the past, you know it's bursting at the seams with helpful info about products and more. While answers to many frequently asked questions are present on product pages, or accessible via the search bar, I've learned that presenting a more formal FAQ navigable by an AI/tagging system is actually more helpful 😊 So, yay! That's now live with more topics being added as I copy/paste from my big pile o’ notes in Google Keep. And, if your question doesn’t have a FAQ article yet, you can use the same form send email resulting in a reply that I'm pretty sure won't be spam trapped (🤞🏼) since a lot of my replies do seem to get spam trapped *😬* Anyway, nerd that I am, I'm pretty excited by this, and I hope you find it useful! The other things I got up to were very behind the scenes, aiming to make each day run a little more smoothly... including getting ahead on the spectacular number of orders that arrived after the year end shipping deadline. WOW!! Ummmmm... no joke, I couldn't even take a picture of all the order bins yesterday because they were all over the place: on the ready-to-ship shelves, stacked in the production queue, in piles all over my work space. Oh wow! I'm truly without words! Partially because, wooosh!
