Pokémon fans really be like “why can’t gamefreak make less human starters?” And are yet to actually see the pattern as to why, let’s look shall we?
Gen1, least popular, Venusaur, 4 legs
Gen2, least popular, Meganium, 4 legs
Gen3, least popular, Swampert, 4 legs
Gen4, least popular, Torterra, 4 legs
Gen5, all of them widely unpopular, all are at one point on 4 legs (Superior is just significantly less anthro’d)
Gen6, Greninja kinda mogged all of them, they didn’t stand a chance. But it’s Delphox, who starts on 4 legs
Gen7, least popular, Primarina, essentially on 4 legs
In Gen8 there weren’t any unless you count Rillaboom, and in Gen9 they made their first 4 legged fire starter with the other two both being humanoid. But honestly all 6 of them are kinda ‘unpopular’ due to them being new, look how fast everyone forgot about Fuecoco the second it got on all 4’s. Gamefreak clearly wants to make more animalistic starters but they’re always the least popular ones. Like look at the popular starters, all humanoid/bipedal, Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken, Sceptile, Infernape, Greninja, Decidueye, Incineroar! People have clearly been choosing humanoid-bipedal starters and are only just now either realising, or complaining. And look at the ones I didn’t mention, Intellion, Cinderace, Meowscarada, Quaquazal, because they’re too “cunty” or “feminine” looking, THATS when people have an issue with humanoid starters, exact same reason grass is the least popular, eveyone hates Meganium, Delphox, and Primarina. They’re femme, it’s misogyny. It’s always misogyny.
I hope Gequa is cunty as fuck and is the best competitively out of spite.
