Everyone’s gone

I get wrecked every time thinking about the Veilguard post-Tearstone Island trying to pull things together. One god dead but replaced with another. One friend killed, another taken by the gods, and a third lost to the fade. Just like that, half the team gone.

Especially after they had faced impossible odds again and again without casualties, they had to have been riding high after all those near misses.

I can imagine those who’re left throwing themselves into their work, trying to right the ship without their rudder. No time to grieve. My first and canon Rook romanced Neve, so I also picture her like a phantom haunting the lighthouse, sleepless, going between working with Emmrich on the dagger to wandering between Bellara and Rook’s rooms, and going over things again and again in her head. Stuck in her own prison of regret.

This definitely is the most I’ve written on one of these posts in this series but since I just can’t get it out of my head, now you all have to deal with it too lol
