Yeah, this ship exists! It's called MeanJokes! There's literally nothing stopping you from shipping Jax and Kaufmo together!

And there are crumbs in canon! Just look back to episodes 1, 2, and 6!

Other than the mlm stuff, perhaps Ribbit not being a guy after all holds deeper meaning than you all care to think about! That's a topic for another time, but still.

If you still want to ship Jax and Ribbit together, but are too perturbed by Ribbit's canon pronouns...

That doesn't indicate cisness at all! Ashley Nichols (Zooble) and Marissa Lenti (Gangle) both use she/they pronouns, and they're both under the nonbinary umbrella!

RibbitRabbit is still a queer ship, just not in the way you want it to be. If you're going to stop shipping it just because Ribbit isn't a guy, thus a "denial of yaoi" or some other bullshit...

I JUST woke up, does Gooseworx want me DEAD?

Lately, Michael Kovach did a livestream where he signed some Streamily prints. While I enjoyed watching the stream. There was quite some damage caused by the stream. (Stream is linked below here)

And I want to talk about that.

I'm going to talk about the main 2 problems I noticed that arose from this stream.

1: Crossing the boundaries.

This is the biggest problem I kept noticing on stream. Michael Kovach set up several boundaries and rules regarding certain topics such as voice requests, Episode 7 and ships. Yet people decided to ignore them. -Michael mentions that if he even mentions a slight bit more about Episode 7, he would be fired from work on TADC and likely any Glitch project in the future. You can figure out why that's a problem. -Michael mentions that he doesn't want to endorse or give opinions on ships or else people will use that as fuel to cause interpersonal drama regarding those ships. I'll talk more about that later. -Michael mentions that he can't do voice requests because he is currently busy signing prints. While I do think Michael could've pinned a message in his chat regarding this point, it doesn't help that people kept asking via donations. So much so to the point where Michael turned off Super chats. + He mentioned getting an active moderator(s) to moderate the chat and take action when needed. + He stopped giving warnings to people and said he was just going to start banning people if they continued.

People kept crossing Michael's boundaries so much that I started to notice he was getting more and more fed up and showing cracks in his otherwise chipper attitude. Something I don't think I've seen happen on one of these streams before. He even said that he was tired at the end of the stream showing that fatigue sent in harder than other times.

People were so desperate for their content that they were straight up crossing someone's boundaries and rules, JUST to get what they want. It does not take any brainpower at all to realize how bad that is.

However, this boundary crossing led to a fandom wide problem, which leads me to:

2: The FunnyBunny hate.

Several times throughout the stream, people had requested Michael to write something relating to the ship FunnyBunny (a ship between Jax and Pomni incase you aren't aware). Michael repeatedly denied these requests due to what I mentioned earlier, to not cause interpersonal drama.

Unfortunately, this caused exactly that.

FunnyBunny fans were embarrassed by the people who requested Michael the things they did on stream. While FunnyBunny haters used this as fuel to show why the ship sucks. (Even though it was the people around the ship that caused the problem, not the ship itself.)

However... this is pretty hypocritical all things considered.

In other past Streamily streams involving more of the Digital Circus cast, ships such as BunnyDoll were mentioned and was even endorsed on those streams. Hell, some of the voice cast like Marissa Lenti and Amanda Hufford actively mention some of the Digital Circus ships they like and interact with people in those spaces.

So why were ships like Abstragedy and BunnyDoll praised to the heavens when FunnyBunny was shamed and hated on?

Several reasons.

1: People like Marissa and Amanda are okay with talking about ships.

I'm not sure which Digital Circus VA mentioned it, but one of them mentioned that Glitch gave approval for the VAs to interact with the fandom, ships included. While Michael decided he didn't want to interact. Marissa and Amanda decided they did want to interact. It's their free choice.

Marissa has also mentioned repeatedly that although she may like certain ships, you can't use that as evidence for those ships being canon nor can you use it to say one ship is better than another.

So when someone asks who is against it to endorse their request and they reject it, some people will naturally use that as fuel against the thing that wasn't endorsed.

2: Popularity.

I'm not sure if you've noticed it, but FunnyBunny is WAY more popular than it was back in the day. In previous streams that Michael did with Streamily print signing, almost no one asked for FunnyBunny because the ship just wasn't as popular. It was only when Episodes 5 and 6 came out that people saw just how much dynamic, chemistry and potential FunnyBunny has. Which caused its popularity to SKYROCKET, hence more people requesting Michael (or Lizzie Freeman) for it. If people want that type of content, they will likely go to the people who are mainly onboard for that sort of endorsement or "seal of approval", and when people get that approval, it makes them happy. People mainly want the things that makes them happy after all.

So when that approval gets rejected, some people may interpret that as: "Oh! Someone who is working on this show actively denied this specific thing. Therefore it isn't canon and people should stop engaging with that type of content." And if said type of content is popular, that negative reaction is going to be WAY more noticeable.

3: Using your logic.

Okay, but say those 2 reasons are invalid or don't offer you enough. What if we took a look at this situation using THAT mindset? Using THEIR logic? Well, it makes this entire situation sound stupid (because it is). Take a look.

"Oh! This voice actor said something negative about Abstragedy! Therefore the ship isn't canon and people can't talk about it!" "Hey! This voice actor said something positive about BlueTooth! That means this ship MUST be canon and we need to FORCE more people to talk about it! Why? Because the voice actor said so!" "VA said something negative about BunnyDoll, Abstrabbit, ShowTime, etc? Ship is not canon! MAKE EVERYONE SHUT UP ABOUT IT AND HARASS THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT!!!" "VA said something positive about FunnyBunny, Checkmate etc? Ship MUST be canon! Awesome! Let's make sure we can harass everyone into only liking our ship!"

You can see why this mindset is HORRIBLE and dangerous to have.

Not everyone is like this, but a majority of people treat VAs or other people who work on the show as people who have the OFFICIAL say. So when the "high and mighty official people" say something that approves or disapproves something, they follow in their footsteps and treat that as canon.

It just doesn't make sense AT ALL and it causes a lot of toxicity.

So, to summarize. -People kept crossing Michael Kovach's boundaries during his latest signing stream which caused some cracks to form, caused him to get tired and partially upset with people. -Due to this, FunnyBunny was caught in the blast and got severe backlash despite the fact that other ships were on Streamily streams in the past, they were liked and got positive attention.

This fandom has been getting worse and worse over the course of time, and this singular stream causing this entire chain reaction is only another situation throwing a fuel onto that fire.

I am severely disappointed. and that goes to all of you.

But I can to the shipping thing and to the community

To be honest, I don't ship or see funnybunny in any way but the shippers aren't very nice to other shippers that involve Jax

As you mentioned it too ppl can pressure or harass other shippers, I mostly seen this with bunnydoll, bunnyteeth and buttonblossom

I especially saw a lot on tiktok of bunnydoll getting a lot of negativity bc of the "big" age gap, I very much don't understand what's the problem there bc they have a normal age gap and they're both adults, ik that Jax dislikes ragatha in the show but that doesn't have to immediately turn to that they can't be shipped

Buttonblossom have dissapeared from THIN EARTH LIKE WHAT!? Till I saw the ship, I saw ppl saying that pomni is straight or that Ragatha is aroace(which I don't see one bit . _.)

Bunnyteeth (CainexJax btw) is tbh an interesting ship but it got hate from other shippers or from fandom bc of Caine being an AI and just lots of ppl not seeing it so it got lots of dislikers

And the fandom should really take back bc I have seen many stuff and it's rare to find sm normal in this fandom, it's just uneasy seeing what a fandom does youre in and it's surprising how some ppl are nowadays like nobody can keep peace in others opinion

In these days everyone is just tryna have their own things listened while barely looking at the other

I see why youre severely disappointed
