it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.

OMG IT’S CANON AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ash never celebrated Father’s Day growing up (for obvious reasons) and whenever it rolled around, he would often get sad. As a kid, it was hard for him to watch other kids doing things with their dads that he never got to do.
But then he goes to Alola and moves in with Professor Kukui. The two become really close and basically view each other as father and son, so Ash decides to finally celebrate his very first Father’s Day. He gets Professor Burnet to help him find just the right gift and make a delicious picnic lunch to surprise Professor Kukui with. Professor Kukui is taken totally off guard, but is so happy with the surprise and tears up multiple times during the day!
Even after Ash leaves Alola, he makes sure to call Professor Kukui every Father’s Day, and they have a nice, long talk. Ash even remembers to send a gift each year! This continues even after Kukui and Burnet have their baby (they never stop thinking of Ash as their first child) and after Ash eventually has his own children as well (because they basically view Kukui and Burnet as grandparents); the video calls just get a lot more crowded.

The Pokemon anime is amazing in it's stagnation. I say that because I hate change in real life, and the fact that almost nothing changes over the 300+ episodes of the Pokemon show...well, it makes me feel like I've found something stable in a sea of constantly changing turbulence.
Misty began travelling with Ash because she wanted her bike fixed. But by episode 80 of 90, it's pretty clear we're never gonna fix that bike. Or if we do fix it or replace it, it'll only happen when Misty leaves the main cast. Team Rocket began following Ash to capture Pikachu. And now...i don't know, I guess they've lost all drive for everything else? They just keep following the same kid around constantly. Or sometimes they just accidentally bump into each other. But even when their boss is clearly trying to get rid of them, they never get fired. They just keep hanging in there.
Ash never really ages, true. But why is that something not a bad thing to me? I don't care that he's static in that way. I think it gives me less of a worry about time skips and heavy storylines that'll remind me of my own aging and mortality. By being so stagnant, pokemon is the textbook definition of a good thing to me.
I'm getting tired, so I'll end this post here. I'm going to go play Pokemon Let's Go Eevee now. But yeah, I really wish there were more shows like the pokemon anime. Shows where almost nothing changes and the same things happen in different ways for 300+ episodes. That is genuinely my idea of perfection, I swear.
my roman empire is that after coriolanus gets back to capitol, the plinths basically adopt him. they buy the snow attic back, finance his studies at the university, help grandma’am and tigris. they even move to the attic underneath theirs to be closer, and it’s even mentioned they want to connect the houses with stairs. they do all this oblivious to the fact that coriolanus was the reason of sejanus’ death. this thought literally haunts me.
