I bet the Eridian horror genre goes so hard… there must be an entire cultural history of storytelling relying on the uncertainty between sleep and death. The terror of watching your loved ones sleep and having to have faith that they will wake up because there isn’t any particular indicator that they will. I mean it can’t be universally terrifying or every eridian would be afraid of sleeping - I imagine it’s like how humans don’t tend to think too hard about our own biologically mandatory paralyzed hallucination comas - but there’s gotta be eridian fiction that emphasizes it
