Voice of God: This seems an appropriate time to share a couple of the characteristics of demonic corporations. First, demon corporations are stronger than human bodies, just in case of incidents such as this one. If not for this fact, Crowley would have most certainly discorporated when his skull met the rock. Not that he is safe from such a fate, at the moment. Second, the blood of demonic corporations is black, due to the mixing of sulphur with previously angelic genes.

Satan in Good Omens used to be Lucifer when Satan was an angel. Crowley wasn't Lucifer. (Is this a new fan theory I missed?)

It is a new theory that Crowley was actually Lucifer before he fell. A rough explanation is that, in some beliefs, Satan and Lucifer weren’t necessarily the same person, and that over time, the names just became interchangeable after so many translations and itterations. So, many believe that Lucifer in Good Omens may not actually be Satan, leaving Crowley open to take that title instead.

It’s a pretty new theory, though, but it did gain some quick popularity because there were a lot of things that Crowley did that could be tied to what we know of Lucifer. But since we still are unsure of who he was for certain, we all just kinda speculate.

But he talks about hanging out with Lucifer and the boys when he's getting drunk in the pub in Season 1. And he's obviously not suddenly talking about himself randomly in the third person while inebriated in a conversation in which he's complaining about the choices that led him to that pub and two bottles of Talisker...

Anyway.

Feel free to write all the Crowley is secretly Lucifer fictions you like, but that has to be fanfic I'm afraid.

Part of that got cut out so he doesn't specify it was he himself hanging out with Lucifer. It's left ambiguous. You'd only know he was saying it that way if you read the script.

I was just minding my own business one day and then, looky here, it’s Lucifer and the guys, [CUT: they say, hey, Crowley, my man, we’re just on our way to discuss the whole job conditions and career advancement thing, so, okay,] the food hadn’t been that good lately, I’d got nothing on for the rest of that afternoon, next thing I know I’m doing a million-light-year freestyle dive into a pool of boiling sulphur."

I was totally in the camp that he might be Lucifer too thinking that was a subtle little hint ^^
