THE NEW TOTK TRAILER THERES THE EXTENDED BIT WITH LINK IN THE CAVE WHERE HIS ARM GETS PUT THROUGH A CHEESE GRATER AND
familiar right?? you know what that stance/imagery reminds me of?????
IT’S LITERALLY A CINEMATIC PARALLEL TO LINK’S DEATH IN BOTW. LOOK AT HIM AND HOW HE STANDS. ZELDA’S IN MORTAL DANGER AGAIN THE SWORD IS DAMAGED HES INJURED

wait okay i’m more coherent now (because i definitely didn’t notice the new trailer a day later than it released haha)
but like. look.
his arm is injured again, and the whole cutscene in botw starts off showing how his wrap/brace is scorched through. in totk it’s uh….also injured.
we see both times him facing down a supposedly undefeatable power. the guardian, the malice.
the SWORD. in botw it seemed worn/cracking, and in totk it’s completely ruined.
and speaking of— the powers??? zelda saving link??? in botw she heard the sword’s call to save him and used the swords “power” (advice, it seems to be implied) to save link. in totk she asks some figure (presumably whatever gives him the fancy green magic) to “lend him your power”.
totk literally seems to be a repeat of breath of the wild and i mean it in the BEST way possible. they literally fought hatred incarnate and save their kingdom after all their friends and family die. zelda had to watch link fight until he literally died in her arms. and it’s easy to imagine them deciding to never let that happen again, to investigate the mysterious occurrences around the kingdom, to keep everyone safe, to stop history from repeating itself—
and then it does, and link is hurt the sword is gone and there is an evil power like never before. it’s a callback to breath of the wild and what link/zelda went through in it, and now what they have to face again. it’s absolutely brilliant, i could keep talking about the parallels with link’s hand reaching out but i won’t!!! this is already so much i’m losing my mind this game is so well thought out it’s going to be amazing
