Shinichi Maruyama - Water Sculpture

Shawcross gave a talk at Leeds College of Art last week, I popped in, it was good. This work is one of his most recent, inspired by the painting either side of it, the robotic arm and the stag's antler represent Diana and Acteon respectively. Perhaps it's not immediately obvious, but the antler was crafted by the robotic arm; I'm a fan, especially of the synthesis of the story. More images and video in the 'Lightworks' section here.

Kikutake produced some of the most unlimited, yet thorough, utopian concepts; most of his concepts were either high-rise towers or water-based cities, or a mixture of both. The guy was responsible for some fantastic models too.(via)

So I surfed into a collection of 360 Degree video clips of stuff in Malaysia. This one beats them all though: watching monkeys attempt to steal the camera from every angle is priceless. I sympathise with the cameraman. (Source)

So Frank Lloyd Wright's Petra Island (1959) is up for sale. All 11 acres of it. Shame it's in the shape of a love heart, that's a bit wet. Still, gonna send them a cheque for the $19,900,000 asking price (Don't tell 'em it'll bounce). (via)(source)(photos)
