Ok but you absolutely should not be fucking holding other diagnostics manuals up over the DSM. The DSM being bad is not a reason to treat the ICD or something like gospel truth. The issues with psychiahry are not unique to the DSM. Any discussion about psych on here always needs to find a convenient scapegoat (Freud, the DSM-V, dare I even say the US healthcare system) lest they start having to think critically about the system as a whole.

Did you know that psychiatric diagnoses are still used punitively and abusively in places other than the United States? And places that don't use the DSM? So clearly the issue isn't with the specific diagnostic manual or country, I wonder if we can all put our heads together and think really really really hard and work out what the common issue is here 🤔
