A possessed car, you say? You may or may not have heard of Reece Feldman before. He's that social media influencer always on the red carpet interviewing celebrities, or on-set talking with your favorite stars. He's wrangled up friends Ruby Cruz and Whitney Peak, to star in this genre film about college girls battling a haunted ride. Very Stephen King, right?!

JERRY THE GINGER EATER It's a Connor Storrie week. Having already covered his other short film, COAX, I now take a look at JERRY THE GINGER EATER, where we meet a cannibal with the appetite for red heads. So yeah, the title is very on point! Let's hope Storrie, the rising star, continues to make his genre short films in between starring in hit shows and movies.

Breaking out from his role in the TV hit, Heated Rivalry, actor Connor Storrie has a side hustle of creating horror short films. Shot in 2024, COAX is the first, where the story is a mysterious black and white living nightmare, accompanied by eerie visuals and unsettling sound design.

Cults are alive and well in 2026, as we all know. No matter how many examples we've seen where the end result is dark and tragic, people still are dumb enough to follow grifters who have their own sinister agendas. Starring Peyton List and Sarah Yarkin, this polished looking horror film by actor-filmmaker Annie Marie Elliot, brings home the fact that cults are simply: evil.

I wasn't familiar with Mike Jittlov's work and talent until I came upon his short film, WIZARD OF SPEED AND TIME, which floored me with the amount of style and creativity found in it. Mike has done it again with Animato, his handmade visual journey that makes you wonder the type of magic he used to create stop-motion masterpiece!

I hope you like centipedes, because this film has them in abundance and in many sizes. Tapping into the go-to theme of losing a family member, this story revolves around a young family encountering a dark mystery tied the ailing patriarch. What the film lacks in practical scares, it makes up for in creepy vibes.

WAYWA A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there were space pirates, aliens, and spaceships. If you're a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, or sci-fi in general, you'll enjoy this nod to those outer space adventures from Craig Tovey and Tara Erickson.

Before you get in line for the new MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, take a moment to remember the 1987 cult classic where good ol' Dolph Lundgren battles Frank Langella!

Couldn't shake the GREMLINS vibe with this one, expecting the creature to transform into something worse. Even though the story never went that route, filmmaker Nathan Mark Ginter created an interesting, weird little film, starring Ruby Cruz and Lucy Idella. The practical creature effects are amazing as you may never see snails the same way again!

The new MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE film is coming out in a few weeks with lots of anticipation and excitement from children born in the 1980s. Before we head to theaters to watch that, let's take a look back at the 1987 cult classic from Canon Films where the talented William Stout brought to life the world of Eternia.

Can video arcades rescue us from our lives? Maybe. That's depends if you find special magic ones that transport us to key moments in our lives and allow us to change them for the better. This nostalgia hit transports the viewer back to a time where one could "escape" to that special place known as the video arcade.

A pretty penny was spent on this production. From the camera work, to the costumes, special effects, music, and acting, Matthew Kravchuk and his team really crafted a special movie. Reminding you of elements from such movies as PREY and THE RITUAL, Kravchuk does a wonderful job showing off his directing talents as he weaves history, tension, and gore, in this 9-minute package. Safe to say that he'll get a shot at a feature film soon.

The eerie tone and angle around a yearbook, instantly got my attention. Utilizing an old yearbook as the source of horror is certainly something new, even though the story structure is familiar. This serves as a solid calling card for filmmaker Matthew P. Higgins who you can bet has a feature script to adapt this.

This Wizard paired with the 1970s Spider-Man and Incredible Hulk would've been a great TV movie or at least, an unforgettable special episode. The film is dated, but the in camera special effects and editing, really hooks you. Hard to imagine that this hasn't yet become a viral video or something brough up regularly at the Alamo Drafthouse, with the preshow content.

Remember that catchy intro from the 1983 animated series, The Littles? No? Well, you're missing out because that sleeper of both a song and series was popular with 80s kids. Flash cut to today where filmmaker Andrew Duplessie has taken that concept and sprinkled in some stop-motion animation and horror elements. The end result is this creepy short film starring child actress Violet McGraw, which has plans on being made into a feature. Be on the lookout.

Hard to imagine that we have to wait for a video game sequence from Just Dance to be the platform to deliver the coolest stop-motion animation I've seen in some time. But that's exactly what's happened here. Disco does indeed mix well with monsters, well, at least with the world of not-so-scary families of monsters!

Here's the latest horror short film that's been acquired to become a feature film. Sam Evenson with a VFX background, has created a gore-filled short that falls somewhere between MAMA and LIGHTS OUT. Independent film studio, NEON, is giving Sam his shot at adapting his own short for the big screen. Give this original a look, before the full feature comes out down the line.
