Behind the scenes - making of Dreamlover - mini documentary
The Making of King of the Hill
source: youtube
If you ever wanted to know how King of the Hill was made, this mini-documentary is for you! This featurette about the making of King of the Hill was featured on the season 1 dvd which came out back in July of 2003. It features stories from the cast and crew about what goes into making the show and how it all started off in the first place. For being only around 24 minutes long, it does go in-depth about the origins of the show from the initial animations that Mike Judge did before the idea of the show even came about to the beginnings of the characters' personalities from the first bits of writing made for the show. There is also a bit on the original pitch for the show (which I also made a post about!) and the ideas behind it. There are so many cool stories in this featurette like how Johnny Hardwick went from a writer hired for the show to the voice actor for Dale Gribble (as well as how he defines Dale's character) and how Stephen Root originally auditioned for Dale before becoming Bill Dauterive. The cast interviews are such highlights with my personal favourite being Brittany Murphy talking about the positivity and light of Luanne Platter. She talks about her with such warmth and affection and it is so sweet to see. There are also portions of it about the animation process, the writing, and clips of table reads and episode animatics. King of the Hill is very well defined in terms of its characters and feel, so watching the process of it being created and made is so cool! Absolutely worth a watch if you are a King of the Hill fan!

Upcoming Short Film
Summary:
Given the constant acts of violence, discrimination, and terror faced by Black individuals in the US both today and throughout US history, many Black people are, understandably, feeling discouraged. To provide some uplift and empowerment within the Black communityβa sort of pick-me-upβduring these times, K3mistry Productions, a media education company , is putting together a short film entitled βWhy I love being Black!.β
K3mistry is asking for Black individuals to submit a 30 second to 3-minute video or audio recordingβpersonal pictures and videos are also encouragedβexplaining the benefits of being Black and/or why they appreciate their blackness. These media will be used for the "Why I love being Black!" short film.

Not sure how I ended up in the historical dress recreation corner of youtube but I think I needed to see this. It's good to see I'm not the only one who's been invested in an insane personal creative passion project for over 10 years. Mine could still take me 20-30 years to finish. Or more. At the pace Iβm going right now I could work on it until I die. Like Cathy I still believe Iβll find a way to make it work... somehow. There are ups and downs, but when you have people who look to you and say, "I believe you can do this impossible thing you were crazy enough to start,"-- you just keep going.
