a sort of recent, sort of old gift for @just4penguins! There was a little going away party organized by people in the fanbase (I think @purplewalskurco) who kindly let me know it was happening so I could join. Enjoy the cuteness!
I went waaay overboard on this splurge—I actually went back twice more after the initial splurge and bought more stuff 😭 So I am on a self-imposed ebay ban until further notice! But I'd love to show y'all the stuff I got!
Firstly we have this little Home Depot apron that must have been for some sort of tie-in promotion:
The listing said it was child-sized but I think it's closer to toddler-sized—I couldn't even get the strap over my head for funsies 😂 so here's Skipper modeling it instead!

This actually wasn't part of this splurge; I bought this about three months ago just because it was a cheap listing and I still haven't put it together lol
Next we have this neat Madagascar stencil!
I wish it was made of a bit sturdier plastic; it's very flimsy and I actually had to tape it down to the paper to keep it from moving all over the place! Alex's tail has something wonky going on, and RIP to Marty and Melman and their puny stick legs 😂
Next is something I was super excited to see: a Madagascar lanyard!!
This is from Universal Studios, which used to have a Madagascar themed section at their Singapore park. I keep my keys and things on a lanyard so I'm very happy to have a Madagascar one!
Next we have some figurines from the TPoM series!
This is one of the things I went back later for; they're so spunky looking, I couldn't leave them behind! And shockingly this is my very first merch of my boy Mort!! I need a Mort plushy so badly 😭
Then we have something very entertaining: a Skipper roly-poly!
He has a little bald spot on his head and his bug eyes are a bit freaky but I LOVE him! Here he is in action!
And lastly, my favorite purchases of the splurge: three promotional posters for the TPoM series!!!
The listings said these were given away at San Diego Comic Con panels (from L-R, 2010, 2008, and 2011 cons). The middle one is my favorite because I think that's the very first promo image they ever made for the show!
Here are the images in better quality (I couldn't get a decent picture of the posters without the light reflecting off the frames); I can't find a digital version of that Blowhole poster anywhere so I will treasure this physical copy!

No bc I really needed the writers to expand on the class differences between aye aye's and the other lemurs bc wdym u can just buy an aye aye I dont like how that sounds actually...
Also this also would explain Maurice also being allegedly bullied during his childhood?????? Bc be was literally considered a lower class lemur???? Did it still happen in high school??? Was he protected by being Julien's friend??? Was Rob partially mean to Maurice bc he didnt want Julien hanging out with someone considered lower class???? Why are the lemurs so racist?????? Dreamworks literally make ahkj comics or some shit I NEED ANSWERS!!!!!
I didn’t like how the aye-aye’s were treated in this show. Like why did they give them rat tails? Aye-ayes have fluffy full tails irl. And GOD WHY THE FART JOKES EWW!!!🙄
None of the lemurs knew he was an aye-aye not even Maurice himself until “I, Maurice”
He was possibly bullied for looking so different since he’s the only one with a more unique body build. That and he’s more emotionally sensitive than everyone else, so they probably took advantage of that. Most of the lemurs in AHKJ are dumb lovable assholes.
I can go on and on all day about the aye-aye’s treatment in this show. It’s super depressing.
