Oh, I adore you

Joshua looked over at Julia. He had run into her a few times, but didn’t know her very well. However, Springhill being a small town, he did hear about her breakup. The man had been in her shoes a few years back and it wasn’t the best feeling. “You want another drink? It’s on me.”

Julia sighed, her shoulder slumped. “Only if you stop looking at me like you’re pitying me.” She could see it in his eyes, of course he knew that Asher and her broke up, they spent nearly every day together and no they didn’t even come to their favorite coffee shop at the same times. 

“Definitely yes.” Larissa nodded grabing the glass the bartender offered her. “Right now? Hm I just found out my husband did nothing to annul our marriage. Sweet, huh?” she raising the glass to her lips. She still could not believe Nathan was going to do this to her. He had to hate her even more than she had expected. “What about you?”

“My boyfriend and I got into a fight and we broke up. He... he moved out of our apartment.” Julia swallowed, doing her best not to start crying again and quickly took a sip of her drink. It was hard talking about it. “Maybe you could get a lawyer to help you?”

Madison was pretty familiar with the individuals she worked with. Especially the lower grade teachers like herself since they shared the same building. Julia’s classroom was actually across the hall from her own, and it had become a habit to pop her head in to say good morning before the kids arrived. It wasn’t like Julia to miss work, and she didn’t look sick the days before. Naturally, Madi was a little worried. The day went by rather quickly, and Madi stayed to work late to do some organizing and rearranging. She wasn’t in her best attire, but Madi made a stop at the bar for a quick drink before heading home. She scanned the place as she walked in and noticed the familiar face at the bar. She took the empty seat beside her and spoke carefully, “There you are.” Madi nodded but didn’t move from her seat like the girl obviously wanted. “I’m not going anywhere. Are you alright?”

Seeing Madi here just reminded her that she hadn’t been able to make it to work today. She’d called in sick for the rest of the week even though she hated leaving her kids with another teacher she just couldn’t sit there and act like she was alright when she wasn’t. It was just two days, but still, she didn’t like doing it, but it was the best option she had. She’d tried for the first couple of days, but instead of getting easier it seemed to get harder with time. “Honestly? No. I’m not.”

‘‘Oh hell.’‘ Damn it, if she started crying he wouldn’t know he to deal with it. A hand reaches out hesitantly to rest on her shoulder, giving it a small squeeze.  ‘‘I’m– sorry. You need anything at all, I’m.. here for you, you know? Always gonna be here, okay.’‘

“I don’t need anything. Or at least nothing anyone can give me, but thanks. I appreciate the thought.” She was fully wallowing in self pity now, she wasn’t bothering to hide it. “A month ago I thought we were getting married, which was a misunderstanding, but I should’ve noticed that things were wrong then. But I didn’t. Or I ignored it as long as I could.

Of course Jamie knew about Julia and Asher breaking up; Asher was his brother, so he told him everything, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t care for Julia. They dated for a long time, but all Jamie could think about was that they were going to get back together one way or another. Looking at the girl, Jamie shook his head and sighed. “C’mon Julia, you can’t be alone like this… And I know hanging out with your ex’s brother isn’t the ideal, but I like to think we’re still friends.”

She’d done pretty well avoiding the entirety of the O’Connor family this last week, if she did say so herself. Everything already reminded her of Asher. His family had become like her own over the years, but it didn’t change the fact that they weren’t actually her family. Of course they’d choose his side. “I’m not alone. Look. I have a drink.” She let out a hollow laugh, sighing. “I don’t think he’d want you hanging out with me.” Julia was trying to be respectful, make this easier on both of them. She was dying to ask how he was doing, if he was as hurt as she was, but she held her tongue.

“Oh I hear you over there–” Rob raised an eyebrow at the girls remark, as he ordered a scotch for himself and slid on the stool next to her. “I do that though…and if you put your feelings at the bottom of that glass, then you’ll never find them again–Trust me on this one.” He advised.

“You’re making quite the good pitch here.” She knew his words were meant as a warning, but she’d take feeling nothing over feeling like she was now. Julia hadn’t felt this bad when Asher and her had broken up when they were younger. It seemed more real now. Too real.

‘‘I’m not even used to seeing this side of you. You’re usually so smiley, I dunno how–’‘ Clearing  his throat, Eddie shoots her a look with concern. Once the drink is poured in front of him, he slides it over to her with a nod. ‘‘What’s got you down in the dumps?’‘

“Asher and I broke up.” Her voice was quiet but it was obvious how defeated she sounded. Julia pressed her lips together, not wanting to start to cry again. She’d spent hours doing just that back at home. The drink he slid over to her had been downed in one go and she couldn’t help but grimace. She wasn’t the type to drink straight liquor. It didn’t stop her though, right now she needed it.

“What do you mean you haven’t do anything about the stupid  annulment?” Larissa almost yelled on the phone. “No,no, I don’t want to listen you Nathen. We’re not going stayed married. There’s not a single chance so just do whatever is has to be done.” she said and hanged up. She couldn’t believe he was doing this to her. They hated each other, staying married would be the biggest mess in their lifes and she couldn’t know why he was doing this. Maybe because he wanted to tease her. And now she was angry, so angry she needed a drink, so she entered the first bar she saw and went to the free stool infront of her. “Whiskey.” Larissa ordered before she moved her eyes to the woman next to her. “Except when someone wants to drow their feelings two. Then you can be two doing the same.” she said.

Julia had been barely registering the other woman and the fight she was having on the phone, looking through her phone at old pictures. Deleting the ones with Asher and her in it, which were most of them. She didn’t have the heart to also delete her recently deleted folder. Her phone background was the first thing she changed because his face used to be her lock screen. “Misery loves company, right?” She let out a hollow laugh, taking a sip of her drink. “So what’s going on with you?”

staying in his office watching over the club isn’t something azriel like to do, that’s why he would always be down either helping dance again’s dj set up a rad playlist for the night or usually, he’ll be by the bar mixing drinks for the patrons. it’s one of the things he loves to do, considers it as one of his hobbies. “so, are you a vodka, tequila or whiskey type of person?,” he asks one of the patrons. @shstarters​

“Out of those three it would have to be vodka.” Julia wasn’t a big hard liquor person, she preferred wine and beer as they didn’t leave her head pounding quite as much as these drinks did. But there wasn’t any harm in one drink. “One vodka cranberry please.” 

“I’m telling you, some of my patients are absolutely hilarious.” Leona said with a smile as she held onto her dogs leash as they walked. “Especially the old guys who are excited about me even giving them attention to take their temperature or blood. I can’t tell you how many marriage proposals I’ve received from 80 year old men. I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing, but bless their hearts.” @shstarters​

“I understand where you’re coming from.” Julia laughed, shaking her head. “A few of my students have proposed to me over the years, but they’re just kids so it’s kind of cute in a way. I got more ring pops than jewellery from my actual boyfriend.” Julia joked. She didn’t like material presents as much as she liked meaningful thought out ones. When Asher writes her a song she knows he spent time and effort on it and that mattered way more to her. 

“I’m so glad you agreed - if you didn’t, I’m not quite sure what I’d do. This has been such a slow morning, I’m running out of things to do back here!” Hunter said with a chuckle. “What category would you like?”

“What kind of party pooper says no?” She was sure that some people would, not every person had the same idea of fun after all, but she’d always loved trivia games, so she was ready for whatever question Hunter would throw at her. “Let’s do animals. I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries lately.”

It had been a slow afternoon at Cloak & Dagger. Hunter was bored. She had spent most of the shift cleaning behind the bar but there was only so much she could do with customers present. Letting out a sigh, she poured a beer and stood in front of one of three people sitting at the bar. “If you can answer a trivia question, this beer right here is alllll yours. You in?”

Julia smiled, nodding enthusiastically at Hunter’s question. “Bring it on. I love trivia questions.” She always enjoyed learning new things and keeping her mind busy. 

Mia: I'm going to try, i'm gonna go over to his place soon.

Mia: I know, but he's been there since I was like 2, he sees me like a little sister. I don't want to get my hopes up about it. I'm trying to get over the dumb puppy crush on him. It'll just end up embarrassing me if talk to him about it.

Julia: tell me how it goes!

Mia: Still, it's unfair of him to ignore my calls and texts. It's hurtful.

Mia: Who? Nate? No, he's just trying to be like Danny 🙄

Julia: i understand that. you should talk to him about it, clear the air
