‘‘no, he wasn’t--  but what are ya gonna do right? i only proved that i wasn’t a big failure like he thought i’d be. though... the way my service ended probably proved i wasn’t cut out for the military like i thought i was.’‘ he murmured, hand rubbing his chin in thought with that grin still plastered on his face. ‘‘i struggled so long after i got out of the military, had some lows and thought... thought i wouldn’t get out of that hole. but now i’m out of it, and i’m cherishing everything. being sober, having a girlfriend that loves me and just being in a town with a familiar family friend.’‘

‘‘IT’S SOMETHING EVERY guy likes hearing, believe me. kidding, i feel more like shit than anything.’‘ he says all too quickly, pushing his hair back from his face-- lips pursed as he thinks about it for a moment. ‘‘spiked coffee may be one of the greatest ideas you’ve had yet. let’s go with that.’‘

‘‘Honestly the old bat never did get me. Remember it was always a screaming match with us?’‘ It was like the whole situation was amusing him now thinking back to it.  But he shakes off his thoughts of the past, head snapping up at her question once she mentions Maeve. ‘‘Oh me? Yeah always. She uh-- told me she loved me, y’know? i got so excited-- ah, at first i was stunned. but I told her I loved her back and it’s been going strong with her.’‘

‘‘Really? That’s something our dad’s seem to have in common. Mine STILL CAN’T seem to get over how I left to fight a war over staying in farm world.’‘ He says with a grumble, but still-- lips are curled up into a tiny smile as he punches her arm playfully. ‘‘Everything... is still the same, I guess. Not much changed.’‘

so he buttons it up, only grimacing slightly as he tries to adjust and make himself comfortable-- arms folding over his chest. ‘’yeah, yeah i’m fine. swear i am you know? tackled the suspect and it.. escalated from there.’’ moving to sit down beside her, elliott nudges her shoulder playfully. ‘’yeah, i just wanted to talk about some things with you. something i should’ve done a while back, but just never had the gull to do it. so if you got some time, maybe.. we catch up a little more?’’

‘‘TEENAGERS ARE ASSHOLES. i know because i was an asshole.. through the teens and into the twenties.’‘ he said with a chuckle, eyes rolling playfully but her words make his brow raise for a moment as he tries to think of the character, finger tapping his chin in thought. ‘‘jabba the hutt? you can probably make that work. but i’d go for yoda before... yoda is an iconic piece in the series.’‘
