What is a Christian?
This is a question many find difficult to answer, so i'll answer it by first telling you what a Christian is not. A Christian is not perfect. A Christian does not place anything before God. A Christian does not hate. A Christian does not justify their sin because others do it. A Christian does not aim to please man. A Christian is not impatient. I can go on but you get the point. A Christian is the exact opposite of these examples above. A Christian knows they are imperfect and have no shame in stating that publicly! A Christian places no material goods, people or ideologies before the commands of God. A Christian aims to do the will of God! A true Christian loves just as Jesus loved! Christians are presented with opportunities to love and a true believer of Jesus Christ will live everyday looking for opportunities to love! A Christian does not sin and justify their sin with the excuse "Everyone else is doing it". God does not command you to do as the world does but to do as HE says! Are you of the world, secular, or are you of God, heavenly? Just because your circle or your world is doing it doesn't mean it's right in the eyes of God! A Christian will seek the word of God because they aim to grow spiritually closer to God, they will aim to please God and not their fellow man. Once a Christian knows the commands of the Lord, they should be convicted by the Holy Spirit to change and turn away from their sin, turn away from their old ways! To summarize, a Christian is able to testify, rebuke and turn away from their sin. They live everyday trying to please God, everyday growing closer and closer. Everyday seeking more and more of His word. A Christian knows they are a sinner, knows they are imperfect, knows they deserve Hell but understands Jesus died for them to be spared the wrath of God.
A Christian accepts Jesus Christ as God Incarnate, knows he died for us and rose in 3 days. Proving He is who He claimed to be!
