I’ve been following Adam during the entire election season, from when he was just managing the field office in my county to becoming the National Field Director for the DNC. He’s also a long time aide of Hillary and co-founder of Ready for Hillary. He is a great grassroots organizer and messenger. He is now trying to mobilize and organize people to prepare and and make a stand against the Trump administration and get Dems to run for office in every level so they serve as check and balance against Trump and the GOP leadership. 

Whether you’re thinking of running for office or want to help in the effort on various issues: electoral college, reshaping the DNC, fighting against the new administration, etc., he’s one of the DNC leaders you should reach out to and follow on Twitter. 

We can’t just protest on streets or sign petitions or pen essays online, we need to organize, organize, organize. 

Why did states that have been blue for decades go to Trump?

Why did uneducated white voters who voted for Obama switch to Trump?

Why did the candidate with far less funding win for the first time in decades?

Why did millions of voters who supported Obama choose not to vote this time?

Why did so many people who would’ve voted Democrat choose to support third parties instead?

I can tell you as someone who has been listening to conservative media for the past 6/8 Obama years - It is racism. It is sexism. It is stupidity, but more specifically a campaign of paranoia and disinformation. The same campaign took place in this election against Hillary.

I'm telling y'all, DO NOT allow these people to hide behind legitimate issues. They chose to ignore or ALL OF THAT. They chose to embrace bigotry and hatred. Do not allow anyone to try and distort what happened.

I would really encourage you to contact your electors and tell them why you do not want Drumpf to be president. Tell them why he cannot be our president. We do still have some time to try and reverse this

Because I grew up under eight years of your husband, eight years watching you in the news serving New York, four years as Secretary of State, and another four years inevitably planning this campaign, I don’t know if my feelings toward you as a politician are based predominantly on fact or on a skewed narrative as presented by the media.  I’ve never been 100% Team Hillary, but to be fair, I’ve never been 100% Any Politician.  I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect any person serving in our government to agree with us on each and every issue, because it’s their job to know more about them than we do.  For you though, because of your long history in the government as the most high-profile politicians we’ve had during my lifetime, I hold more against you than the average liberal politician.  Part of that is because you’re an old white person whose history contains more than a few hiccups that affect people who look like me, but part of that is because the country decided they hated you long before I was old enough to pay attention to politics, and I’ve been affected by it on some level.  For me, that Hillary vs. America narrative wasn’t enough for me to withdraw support, but it was enough for me to never be overly excited about the prospect of having you in the White House in the pilot’s chair.  All of this is too fresh for me to fully wrap my head around what part of my hesitance is warranted because of your politics and what part is a reaction to Hillary The Monster as spoonfed to me by the news media, but that’s not why I wanted to write this.

I like you as a person.  Aside from politics, I think you are a formidable woman, a passionate patriot, an exceptionally intelligent politician, and a thoughtful humanitarian who really does want the best for everyone.  I feel so disappointed in America, but that’s a given.  Everybody is writing about it, everybody is feeling it, everybody is frightened about the next four years.  But just on a human level, my heart breaks for you.  I can’t imagine spending fifty years working toward a goal that was pushed just out of your reach by an actual monster.  You love America so much more than I do because I would’ve given up on us the first time we told you we hated you, and then the second time, and the third, and the fourth.  The fact that you never give up has been used as evidence of a personality defect, even though we tell our children to work hard for what you want, and if you don’t succeed, try and try again.  

You tried so many times.

I’m not exaggerating when I say I sat on the phone with my friends as they cried talking about how they don’t know how they’ll tell their kids they’re probably going to be deported.

I’m not exaggerating when I say I saw my friends tell their husbands and wives they’ll still be married even if this new presidency voids their marriage license.

I’m not exaggerating when I quote the excitement from men who celebrated the fact that if their president can sexually assault women so can they.

I’m not exaggerating when I have a fear for all those in the lgbtq community because I know exactly what happens in conversion therapy that this campaign supports and will most likely try to introduce into this country.

I’m not exaggerating when it’s only noon and the increase in hate speech against minorities, people of color, of different religious and ethnic backgrounds has occurred because despite their legal citizenship they still look different and therefore, “don’t belong here.”

I’m not exaggerating when I see women who lost babies knowing that it may soon be a law that it’s her fault and she should be punished let alone the rest of women who may no longer have a say to what they do with their own bodies.

I’m not exaggerating when the suicide prevention hotlines are busy, the immigration websites crashed, when there are riots in the streets because this is the first modern time when people are genuinely afraid to be alive due to the person elected to lead them.

You come home from work, with a smile on your face. It looks like your protest works: Some of your friends also didn’t vote or wrote in the name of a third candidate. You feel really good. Maybe you and your friends are enough to change the system! And if not, well, you’ve seen presidents change before and it never had too many consequences in your life. 

You sit down in front of your tv, reach for the remote and your phone buzzes. It’s a text from one of your friends, the weird one who begged you to vote for Hillary - and your smile falls off your face “It looks like Trump will probably win. I’m so scared. My sister is crying.” 

You suddenly remember that your friend’s sister is trans. 

You turn on the tv and you can’t believe your eyes. The third candidate one of your other friends voted for is at 4%! That’s great, isn’t it? But wait.. Hillary is currently behind Trump? By 6%? Oh. You didn’t expect that. 

 Another text. A co-worker. “Two people called in sick. I think it’s because they’re scared to go outside in case Trump wins..” 

One of your co-workers is black, one is Muslim. 

You stare at the tv and you can’t believe what you hear. “Trump won.” It was a head-at-head race and Hillary almost won - but only almost. You can’t believe it. None of your friends were going to vote for him! 

You want to go outside to think about something else - but you stop as you hear your neighbor crying on the phone. “I’m so scared i’ll lose the custody right when our marriage gets annulled”. 

You suddenly remember that your neighbors are a gay couple with a cute little daughter.
