mac excitedly calling dennis “my husband!!” to their friends at every opportunity especially when it’s not necessary

dennis drops the h-bomb even more unnecessarily but mostly behind mac’s back. like, the check-out girl at the grocery store will be like “you like thin mints? me too :)” and dennis is like “no, my annoying piece of shit husband always eats all of them so i have to buy twice as many” and he acts so pissed off but really he lights up inside when he gets to say the words

dennis always, always announces them as “my husband and i…” because he’s annoying and gay. he thinks it’s just because he feels superior to single people but really it’s because he has huge feelings (@glirsty for this hard truth)

them taking off like four times a year for various anniversaries that they make up (wedding anniversary, the day they proposed, the day the honeymoon started, the day the honeymoon ended…ad infinitum) and claiming prejudice against couples and/or homophobia when the others protest

mac starts calling him “babe” sometime during the engagement, although not that often. and even more rarely, “hon”

dennis going on long-winded, pretentious “you don’t get it but one day if you get married” speeches and ignoring frank trying to tell him that he’s already been married before, and for longer than dennis can even comprehend

mac constantly loses his ring so dennis has a secret box full of fake rings, and he’s always acting exasperated and mad when he has to give him another one but secretly the real ring’s already been encased and framed and dennis plans on giving it to him on their 20th anniversary (there’s tally marks on the back for every fake ring that mac’s lost)

dennis is so fucking Weepy every year on their anniversary even though he’s the one who plans a romantic evening together. whether it’s during dinner, after sex, on the moonlit walk on the way back from dinner….dennis cries

the both of them milk the shit out of the whole “in sickness and in health, we said-” “you said for better or worse!” usually when they’re too drunk to clean up some mess they made by themselves
