This silly lil guy looks like he's a product of a sinful love between an amphibian and a fish.

It lived 380-375 million years ago (Paleozoic Era, Devonian). This large freshwater "fish" was at least 1.5m long. The first fossils were found in 2004 on Ellesmere Island, Canada. The discovery made by researchers Edward Daeschler, Neil Shubin and Farish Jenkins Jr.

The Tiktaalik lived in small and possibly murky rivers. It acquired gills, the overall skeletal framework, and scales from fish, and from amphibians and tetrapods, it gained lungs, a flexible neck, limb structures akin to levers, and ribs that are hallmarks of terrestrial beings.

About its features:

1) the most striking thing is the structure of its fin. At first glance, it looked like a typical fin of lobe-finned fish (similar to the fin of the coelacanth). However, it already had features characteristic of the limbs of terrestrial vertebrates: one bone at the base, two bones attached to it, and then many small bones (the future palm). The elbow joint was located between the first bone and the two following ones. All in all, scientists have discovered a fish with elbows that can lift itself off the bottom. :)
