Here’s an iguana from the sketchbook for tonight. Most likely a green iguana? In any case, they’re pretty gorgeous.

More from the sketchbook! With a short-horned Chameleon.

Big-headed turtle head, it sort of reminds me of an octopus beak. Pencil doodle from the sketchbook.

Gila Monster! They look so hefty, with those broad faces. Fun fact: they’re the largest lizard native to the USA. No wonder.

Back to reptiles for a bit, with a sand lizard. Pencil doodle in my sketchbook (which explains the messy blurry bit on the left).

Back to it. Imagawayaki, batter filled with azuki bean paste here, though it can have a whole lot of different fillings, even savoury ones apparently. 

Castella cake, originally from Portugal, brought into Japan in the 16th century. Super popular sponge cake in Japan nowadays. 

Strawberry daifuku tonight, because it’s delicious.

Taiyaki this time, sort of cake generally filled with red bean paste. It’s (really) good.

Yet more Japanese food, onigiri and tsukemono, pickled daikon.
