Trump purchased tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of stock in UFC’s parent company while promoting the event, according to a May financial disclosure. Every president since Ronald Reagan has either put their assets in a blind trust managed by independent trustees or sold off their stocks to eliminate conflicts of interest. Trump did not.

One important thing to remember about being a trillionaire is that it doesn't actually have any meaning. He's long since gathered more money than he could ever spend, it's just keeping score. You don't seize the money, you seize the property. But it is a nice reminder of how obscene the system thatnwe live under actually is, and what absurdities it produces. Anyways, Death to Capitalism.

Who would seek to put an end to the New Mexico’s first of a kind free universal childcare? A Republican, of course.
Attorneys for former Republican gubernatorial candidate Duke Rodriguez and other plaintiffs had questioned the process used by Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s administration to eliminate an income cap and co-pays for childcare assistance before the Legislature had a chance to weigh in or approve funding.
Attorneys representing Lujan Grisham and the state’s childcare agency argued that lawmakers have since authorized and funded the program’s expansion, rendering the legal challenge “moot.”
District Judge Elaine Lujan agreed, tossing the lawsuit and allowing the state to continue footing the daycare bill for families regardless of income. She also found that Rodriguez and his co-plaintiffs lacked standing to bring the lawsuit,
New Mexico became the first U.S. state to offer free, universal childcare to all families, regardless of income. The program removes income eligibility limits, covers working families’ daycare costs, and is financed by the interest from state’s oil and gas production revenues.
Governor Lujan Grisham, a democrat, signed two bills into law completing her promised “cradle to career” education plan launched during her first year in office. As of March 10 2026, New Mexico is the only state in the nation to offer its residents tuition-free college and no-cost universal child care.

President Donald Trump announced Monday that a July 4th event on the National Mall in Washington, planned to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, will be a “Trump rally.”
In a Truth Social post Monday morning, Trump said the event, which is slated to be held near the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, will be “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a ‘TRIBUTE TO AMERICA.’”
But Freedom 250, the public-private White House-backed partnership charged with coordinating events to mark the country’s semiquincentennial, does not describe the event as a “Trump rally.” Instead, that organization calls it a “Salute To America 250 Celebration & Fireworks.”
“As America marks its 250th anniversary, Salute to America will stand as a defining celebration of the people, principles, and patriotic spirit that make the United States the greatest nation in the world,” Freedom 250’s event description says, which does not mention the president by name.
Trump’s apparent reframing of the July 4th event marked the latest example of his politicization of events meant to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Bluminarmour Project Update (sorry for the croaky voice)
Hey folks, it is with great sadness that I need to let you know that it looks like the Bluminarmour Project on Kickstarter is going to have to take a backwards step. Due to some communication issues with one of the people I was working with on the project, there has been a copyright dispute that has resulted in its suspension.
Unfortunately after several days of communication with Kickstarter and the affected parties, it seems like the best way to proceed will be to first ensure that Kickstarter refunds all backers, and then cancel the project and begin again. Obviously I will update you all if anything changes but for now this seems to be the best option.
I do have an armourer that I’m very excited to work with moving forward, and I still want to do this the best way that I can, but that means I need to take a different approach for now.
I’m extremely grateful to everyone for the support, and apologise for the inconvenience and concern. You’re all awesome, and I still hope to be able to meet as many expectations as possible with this project when I can!

Ahhhhhh this is really awesome news! :D

Just want to remind everyone that Elon Musk canceled $400 million in food aid for Gaza and Darfur, and to remind everyone when he held up a chainsaw, fed USAID into the wood chipper, and thousands of people have already died as a result.
That's who you're defending. History's first trillionaire.
The president does not look like he’s doing well.
One day after celebrating his 80th birthday with a UFC spectacle on the White House lawn, President Trump looked like he was feeling every bit his age while visiting France for the G7 summit.
Speaking with the media with French President Emmanuel Macron Monday, Trump was struggling to keep his eyes open as Macron praised the developments on peace with Iran, even as Macron often turned to Trump to acknowledge his efforts.
when i was allegedly a woman i was briefly married to a cis guy before coming out as a lesbian and getting a divorce. my now ex-husband, a genuine sweetheart of a man, was very kind about it all and we remain good friends.
twenty-five (!) years later I came out as a trans man.
now. the important thing to know about my ex-husband is that he loves nothing more than 1) horrible puns, preferably bilingual ones; 2) terrible dad jokes; and 3) committing to the bit until the end of time. he absolutely lives for Shenanigans and Japery. i do not know how his long-suffering wife puts up with him, but they've been married for more than 20 years so presumably she manages.
so, to break the news to my ex, i texted him. the exchange went something like this:
me: "great news, i'm a trans guy now"
him: "oh, congrats!"
me: "thank you. now for the better news: I insist you refer to me henceforth only as your ex-husband. do you accept this challenge?"
and my cis, straight-as-an-arrow, lives-in-the-midwest, married-to-a-minister ex-husband was like
AND HE DOES! gleefully and completely straight-faced, as I understand it. confuses the hell out of everyone, none more than cishet conservative people who've known us both for decades and know for a fact he's only been married twice. I hope he never explains.

“When the powerful want you to forget a conspiracy, what they want you to forget most are the victims. The conspirators will try to demoralize you and demonize you. The conspiracy may frustrate and exhaust you. But the injustice the victims endure is straightforward. The victims are why the crime matters. To be human is to care about other people. To seek justice is to honor another’s humanity. To destroy elite criminal impunity is to gain equality. The purpose of deciphering a malicious conspiracy is to protect the victims and keep it from happening again.”

There is no such thing as voter apathy.
Though I definitely believed there was before a meeting yesterday.
Merriam-Webster describes “apathy” as:
A lack of feeling or emotion; a lack of interest.
And that’s just not what’s happening. People don’t vote, not because they don’t care. They care deeply.
The mom who is working 3 jobs absolutely cares about the cost of groceries and healthcare. She cares about what her child is being taught in school and how much her gas has gone up.
She doesn’t lack emotion, it’s not that she’s disinterested. She just doesn’t know what she doesn’t know.
“Apathy” falls into three buckets
despair
confusion
ignorance
When we boil it down to apathy, it’s easy to think there is no solution.
But there is. There are many.
Let’s start with “despair.” We’ve all felt it. It’s the belief that nothing will change and nothing will get better. Why bother if things are going to stay the same?
My wins are an anecdote for despair. They’re a reminder that change is happening, even if it’s slow, and we are the ones with the power to create that change.
We all have the power to combat despair. And it’s important to share our successes as much as possible, in order to do so.
“Confusion” it’s a bit more technical. A great example is what happened in the Georgia Supreme Court races. The Democratic voter turnout was really high, but the Dem endorsed candidates lost the SCOGA races because it was non-partisan.
When someone is busy or stressed, their only knowledge of politics may be voting. And they’d been taught that if someone is on their ballot they must be a Democrat, so they vote for the incumbent.
Remember, this mom works three jobs. How is she going to learn otherwise? Especially when that’s something she didn’t even know she had to learn?
We have to work on voter education. That has to be a priority.
Explaining how elections work., but also educating people on what each position does.
Which leads to the final reason “ignorance.”
When things go wrong it’s very easy to blame the entire system rather than a specific elected office. But usually it’s pretty specific. A great example is whenever there’s a confirmation vote in the Senate, Dems in the House get yelled at.
The House has nothing to do with nominations of anything. But if you don’t know that then why wouldn’t you yell at those people to make sure they do the right thing?
We need to have more grace for each other and not assume the worst. Not assume that someone is intentionally clueless or doesn’t want to make things better and fight injustice.
If you’re reading this, you’re more informed than most. It’s our job to help combat these things and teach people….
Your vote is your voice and that voice is your superpower!
