I’m so glad that I, even in such a small way, can help to soothe your pain.

I have been so lucky to get such a huge outpouring of love and support from so many different people willing to take this journey with me while I write this fic. The comments have been absolutely encouraging, motivating and most of all, heartwarming; hearing your stories and how my writing has impacted you in a positive way is so incredibly meaningful to me.

Knowing that something that I write can comfort you, make you smile, or just help bring your pain down- even if it’s just from a 100 down to 99 or 98- I don’t know if I can put into words just what that means to me. I’m so glad that what I write be a support to you, a comfort when things are difficult, and a reminder that while your journey may be long and difficult and there will be setbacks, that there will be steps forward too.

The first time that Jungkook meets Min Yoongi in person, it’s five-thirty in the morning and he’s absolutely soaked to the bone.

He’s shivering something fierce, his high-school track sweatpants and sweater clinging to his skin uncomfortably.

Of course he’d forgotten to pack an umbrella for the trip. He had sunblock, bug spray, extra socks, enough band-aid and gauze to mummify himself twice over- but no umbrella.

So when it had started to rain, he’d had no choice but to just keep walking. According to his phone, he was only five minutes away from his apartment anyway, and a little water never hurt anybody, right?

He was supposed to arrive in Seoul last night, but his mother’s worrying had them going back home to quadruple-check he hadn’t forgotten anything, and he’d missed his bus. He somehow had managed to convince her that he would be fine and to let him catch the next one by himself- and he’d made it, although seven hours later than he was supposed to be.

Just a month ago Jungkook had responded to an ad from someone looking for a roommate. He’d chatted with the guy- who’s name, he’d learned, was Min Yoongi- for a little bit, before Yoongi informed him that he seemed ‘acceptable to move in to his apartment’ (to quote him specifically). As far as Jungkook can tell, Yoongi’s a little standoffish, very stubborn and set in his ways, but kind. Fair. They’ve spoken a lot over text and Jungkook feels he has a decent idea of what kind of person Yoongi is.

His first impression of Yoongi, however, is not at all like he expected.
