Its been a while, but here are two of my favourite pictures from my last couple of shoots. Yes, this is a Menswear blog predominantly, but lately I have been having fun shooting womenswear, although with work its been a little hard to post as often as I would like. But, sitting here in my living room watching ellen, I realised I could be using my time blogging, raa.Â

Something Different, Isabella
Some recent images I took of local model Isabella ( Viviens Models) , her style is really simple and I love it. She mixed bold cut prints and block colours with one stand out piece to bring it together.
She works so well with the camera and has an extremely natural and relaxed way of being when its pointed at her. She's seen here wearing her own clothes, including a Brixton hat, a season favourite. Pick it up online or at Driftlab!
I’m posting this photo again, it’s one of my favourites from earlier this year, on a road trip on the east coast, thanks for the 1.9K notes!

Forgot about these photo's I took a while back. Theyve been sitting on my laptop desktop amongst an array of confused and unused images, glad I found it!
There is something summery about all these photos from my latest shoot! Gus is seen here wearing the Royal Palms Shirt by the Assembly Label & the well fitting Christo Walk Short by the same brand. Be sure to check them out online or drop into Driftlab to try some gear on! The shirt is well designed, has a very decorative print and is 100% cotton, which will keep you cool during the warmer months as well as looking fresh! They also have a blog which you can follow HERE, be sure to keep posted over the next few days as I have some more threads to show you from them!
To welcome Spring 13 I headed over to the Afends store in Byron Bay on Thursday night to catch up with some of the team and see their latest arrivals. The Spring release party showcased their latest collection, including my favourite All Ears Tee, as well as some of their team riders and staff dropping in to store. The Byron based label has rapidly developed over the past few years and I see no sign in them slowing down , pumping out some of the raddest patterns and merchandise Ive seen from them so far. The Afends plain and denim range should be a basic musthave have in anyones cupboard (or bedroom floor), so be sure to check it out. The spring range is now available in store or online and you can keep up with them on the blog HERE.Â
I can't believe its mid August, where has the year gone? I'm really looking forward to Spring / Summer 13, there are some great pieces coming out from domestic brands here in Australia and this Sharpie Tee by The Critical Slide Society is so far my favourite. Its available online or if your in the Byron area head into Driftlab Newrybar or Johnson St to get yours! The denim Brut Skinny Jeans are by Rollas, also available online and at Driftlab!Â
There is a lot of empty spaces in my new home, so here are some small DIY furnishings that I have made or been kindly gifted with.
Some small indoor plants like succulents are good, they are super duper low maintenance and add some small bursts of colour to a room, usually in the kitchen I will have a mug or jar of flowers as a focal point or to add warmth.
Glass is probably my favourite type of home furnishings, I usually collect jars and bottles and fill them with candles, macadamia nuts (seen above ) or anything really that fits inside and has a minimalistic look about it.Â
Rope, a slightly masculine item that can balance out having flowers and candles in a room. They are a little bit rustic and slightly messy, which I feel can even out clean line furnishings like glass.Â
Ornamental animals, I am a sucker for a porcelain deer or bird and also prone to buying cheap and tacky wooden ducks at the local Vinnies, but they are a good space filler and add character. A DIY I use is to buy a bag of cheap plastic toy animals and simply spray them white.
I also use books to fill spaces on large surfaces, they add height and volume and are readily available to hold a door open.Â

Its a little hard to believe its still winter after the past week of sunshine! I moved up into the hills above Byron and it is the raddest little (not that little ) place I have ever lived. A veggie patch, macadamia forrest, mango trees and citrus garden surround the place so I doubt I will ever go hungry.
I picked up some denim overalls last week (email me for the supplier or to order some) and to begin with I was a little nervous about strapping myself back into the 90's with these denims but after a few hours or wear its going to be hard to get me out of them!Â
These photos were taken on the neighbouring property where there is a deserted Queenslander home sitting amongst a macadamia farm, overlooking a huge valley between Broken Head and Lennox Head.

Its Splendour time here in Byron Bay! Traffic is rolling in and its a prime time to get some looks together for the three day music fest. IF I was going (which unfortunately I can't) this is pretty much what I would wear. A pair of basic cotton on ripped jeans, a plain stripy tee and if it got a little wet, my Academy Brand Anorak. Shop jeans here. You don't want to wear a lot of layers, it gets hot and uncomfortable and you wish all day you had only worn a tee, so a light jacket if you must. A long sleeve stripy tee and some relaxed fit jeans like this should see you through!
Seen here wearing Brixton Heist Beanie | Nique Eastern Shirt | TCSS Martial Vest | Rollas Thin Captain Jeans |Â
Here are some threads from some really good brands bringing out some of the greatest winter wear I have seen in the past few years. I headed into Driftlab in Byron and with help from Sarah got this get up ready. I really, really love Rollas and TCSS, but haven't really bought anything from Nique before, until I saw this shirt!
Plaid is definitely a pattern being seeing a lot this winter (even though flanno's and plaid never really go away), so if your going to buy a plaid shirt or jacket I would suggest opting for one with a larger bolder plaid design on it.Â
As for the vest, I never thought I would be into a quilted vest but my goodness have TCSS done well with this number! Considering its sleeveless I honestly could not have been warmer yesterday whilst wearing this, it isn't to bulky either and the quilted finish tops it off. I always avoided vests, I think I was scared in the early 2000's by vest and ugg boot wearing gangsters..maybe, Im not sure if that was even a thing.
Jump in to Driftlab Byron or Newrybar to try stuff on or head to their online store for more!Â
Some more gear from Rhythm featured today, and what a cold day it was! Sorry that content has been a bit slack over the past week, things have been busy behind the scenes but now that I have a bit more of a back log I can start posting more! Wohoo
We headed out to Broken Head today and walked along the head land which opened up into a grassy knoll. It was a bit of a walk, but once up there it was worth it (apart from the wind). The Jeanyes Chinos from Rhythm are a really good buy, unlike a lot of chinos I have bought in the past! I have found most pairs I have are a little to thick and a bit baggy, but the Jeanyes are really lightweight and have just enough stretch in them.Â
I also really liked the Alley Rats Tee as I am a big fan of bold prints and this particular tee has a 70's style about it I think! Check out the other colous by following the links!

Winter Break
Some photos of Ashley a few weeks ago before a little trek down to some fun waves. A few hours south of Byron is a sleepy little fishing community wedged between the sea and the river, a fun place for a midweek escape or overnighter

On a side note, Adelio will be having their store opening night on the 22nd of June. There is a discount on merchandise and Ashley is showcasing some boards there, so if you are on the Central Coast or Sydney head to 5/185 central coast highway , Erina at 7pm for some drinks and some socialism.Â
