Who all is still around?
A toast, to the day it all fell apart. Rather, the day it all became real. It's kinda stupid to even think about it. But it's definitely one of the days I'll never forget.
I think I earned a drink.
About an hour ago, I was in Walmart looking for my conditioner because today is wash day for my hair. As Iâm looking for my product, this older white lady approaches me and she says, âExcuse me, miss. Please donât be offended by this.â And usually when white people tell me not to be offended, 9 times out of 10, whatever they are about to say is going to be offensive af.
Anyway, she follows it up with, âMy husband and I just recently won our custody battle with our foster daughter and she means the world to us. Sheâs a beautiful African American girl and her hair looks a lot like yours. But Iâm afraid because I donât know what to do with her hair. Itâs a lot different from mines and our other children and we are at a total loss. Iâve tried looking up the YouTube videos and my husband went to the braiding shops so they can teach him how to properly braid her hair, but heâs still pretty new and it will be a while before he gets used to it. Do you have any tips you can give me? If you donât have the time, itâs okay, really! I just needed a little advice because I want her to look beautiful.â
Yâall. swear I almost started crying on aisle 6. So for the last 30 minutes, I spent my time talking to her and what products to use and how to properly detangle and comb her hair with the proper tools and what not to do with natural hair. And I showed her a bunch of easier to follow natural hair tutorials on YouTube and saved them for her. (I also had to create a YouTube account for her so she could save it for later.) but omfg, she was so sweet, and I could tell that she listened to every single thing I had to say and she took little notes on her little notepad.
And what really filled my heart was the fact that her husband actually taking classes from African braiding shops. And she showed me a picture of him wearing a little sweater vest and loafers in a little shop surrounded by beautiful black women showing him how to braid black hair and even the lady heâs braiding on is guiding his hands. And omfg. Bless these old white people and their black daughter who I know have new loving parents because they are willing to step out of their comfort zone just to make her feel and look beautiful.
I really hope our paths cross again one day, Mrs Cicilia. đđ

I can honestly say I've found my happy <3
i was looking at old photos and i wanted to show you how our story went, a little
bronwyn and i met at age 12 but i dont have any photos from then, really, but this is from grade 9 science class when we were being goofs and i was 13
this is from our first ever sleepover, we couldnât stop laughing and we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor and we went to boston pizza and got plastic rings that we both still have (bronwyn kept hers on a necklace after that)
i went to bronwynâs cottage for the first time in the summer after grade 9
we had our first kiss in grade 10 when i was 14 and were in a weird kind of dating limbo period
then i moved to the states and turned 15 and told bronwyn i was in love with her and we visited every chance we could and she sent me flowers and packages
then i went to junior prom with her and bronwyn cut her hair
then we had the most beautiful summer where i spent 5 weeks at her cottage and i cut my hair
then i went back to miami for 12th grade and turned 16 and bronwyn was 17 and we went to senior prom together
then i moved back to canada for university when i was turning 17 and we finally lived in the same place again and we loved each other so much and got breakfast together every day
then after a beautiful summer we started living together when i was 18 and bronwyn was 19 Â and we went to bahrain together and bronwyn dyed her hair brown and now i get to see her every morning and every night and we adventure in our city and have a coffee shop and love each other more than i could have thought. there were periods of scary intense darkness but we love each other so much and iâve never been happier. iâve known bronwyn since i was 12 and now iâm almost 19 and i love her more and more.
iâm never on here anymore, but i wanted to share that almost a month ago bronwyn and i got engaged!! under a beautiful tree on a perfect day and for the rest of my life i get to pursue her and care for her and make her laugh. iâve said this so many times but now more than ever: if this is all i get, itâs so much more than i could have hoped for.
This makes me so happy
this is the future gays want
This is amazing! đđđťđť
Beautiful đ
THIS IS SO CUTE
Happy Thanksgiving!!
I'm excited. This is my first Thanksgiving in almost three years. About to go pick my dad up from the VA and I get my munchkins!
Never take stuff like this for granted. Trust and believe, you will miss it if you ever lose it.
Now on to fatassing! XD
Growing Pains
For the most part life seems to be getting back on track. Im actually kinda proud of myself. Its been less than a month since I paroled and I have things in order a lot of people don't.
I have my own house
I have a couple of vehicles
I have a decent job lined up
I'm in my children's lives
Relationship is going well
Still sober
Yknow, the hardest part of all of this isn't so much the day to day. It's the days like this where it's deafeningly quiet. Nothing but the sound of my own thoughts. The real struggle is having to convince myself that I will get through it all. I guess only time will tell.

Nerdy Fact #1434: Wonder Woman was originally based on two women: the wife of creator William Marston and one of his former students that both he and his wife had sexual encounters with.Â
(Source.)
How about you actually name âem?
Elizabeth Holloway Marston and Olive Byrne were among a number of women who contributed to the original Wonder Woman, and theyâre fascinating people in their own right.
Elizabeth Holloway Marston was a brilliant woman. She earned three university degrees in psychology and law at a time when few women received any tertiary education. She was a successful career woman who assisted her husband with his work and was frequently the breadwinner of the family.
The main reason she was able to continue working after having children? Olive Byrne, who was not simply a casual âsexual encounterâ, but the Marstonsâ lover and life partner. To enable Elizabeth to work, Olive stayed at home and raised both her and Elizabethâs children. She also wrote for Family Circle and contributed to Marstonâs research.
Elizabeth is credited with pushing her husband to create a female superhero, and after his death she worked hard to preserve his vision for the character, urging DC to employ her as the comicâs editor (she was ignored).
Wonder Womanâs braceletâs are Oliveâs bracelets: Olive was known for wearing a pair of wide silver bracelets, and Marston had these in mind when he envisioned Dianaâs bullet-deflecting accessories.
Marston died in 1947, but Elizabeth and Olive continued to live together until the end of their lives.
Wait. Clarification please. Are you telling me that the creator of Wonder WOMAN WAS IN A POLY-AMOROUS RELATIONSHIP?
Yep! They were in a poly relationship and had four children together, two by Elizabeth and two by Olive.
(And for those whoâve asked about sources, the Marstonsâ story is covered in detail in The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lepore and Wonder Woman: The Complete History by Les Daniels)
Wonder Woman was inspired and shaped by not only a man who was incredibly progressive and awesome by todays standards let alone the standards of the day he lived in but also by a fierce, intelligent and awesome bisexual woman
This is one of the many reasons why the ways DC has ruined Wonder Woman in their pursuit of making the book as backwards and heteronormative as possible pisses me offâŚ
Not a fierce and intelligent and awesome bisexual woman.
Two fierce and intelligent and awesome bisexual women.Â
You are correct :D
Imagine growing up in that house
âMom wants to see you.â
âPsychology mom or bracelet mom?â
âBracelet mom.â
According to Lepore, the kids called Elizabeth âKeetieâ and Olive âDotsieâ!
That is adorable.
I have reblogged this before and will continue to do it until the day I die. The origin story of WW comics is as fucking great as the character herself.
Fun fact: Oliveâs bracelets were a gift from William and Elizabeth, and were basically an alternative to a wedding ring, since she couldnât legally marry them. Dianaâs bracelets, 70+ years later, are a symbol of that relationship.
Another fun fact: Thereâs a movie coming out about their relationship, starring Luke Evans and Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote that was written AND directed by a woman (Angela Robinson)
Until it Bleeds
I've noticed I have a habit of biting my tongue. For the most part, I let things slide. I no longer see the point in trying to debate or rationalize with people. That's how you feel or that's how you see it? Cool. Keep it moving. I gave up a long time ago on the idea of getting people to see things from other perspectives. The main reason?
People by nature are selfish.
If it doesn't fit their needs or agenda, they don't want to acknowledge it. And let's be real here: nobody really wants to hear it anyway.
I don't speak on a whole lot anymore. In fact, there are a few things I refuse to even give the energy to discuss.
I won't speak on my time in prison. I won't speak on my failed marriage. I won't discuss in detail my family.
I use to think friendships were worth while. But now I see many of them as a waste of time. People will faine interest or concern, but in the end they never truly cared.
It's interesting. I guess the person I was no longer exists. And you know what? I couldn't be more at peace. So for the foreseeable future, I'll just keep biting my tongue until it bleeds. The taste of blood feels so much like home anymore.
I'm FREEEEE!!!!!
Well shit
Guess whos back
